New business projects for the sale of potatoes. How to get the most profit by growing potatoes for sale. Financial investments in business

Potatoes are the most common vegetable consumed almost all over the world. We cannot imagine our life without him. However, not everyone knows that you can start a potato business. You will read below how to do this.

Business advantages

First, let's figure out why it is worth doing such a thing. The following business advantages can be highlighted.

 1. High profitability, which is about 160%. Potatoes are a product that is always in demand, especially in cities where there are practically no land plots or they are too small.
 2. It is enough to purchase a few small tractors.

However, it should be noted that the cultivation of potatoes is fraught with certain difficulties. First of all, the yield depends on the type of planting material, weather conditions and the degree of plant protection from pests.

Naturally, the soil requires periodic fertilization and rest. There are other costs, for example, fuels and lubricants, but the profitability of the business covers all the disadvantages. Moreover, you can organize such a business in a relatively small area.

What do you need to start?

If you are going to take this process seriously, then a potato growing business plan provides for the collection of some documents. There are few of them. You just need to register a private enterprise, as well as periodically carry out product control using a sanitary station.

Naturally, your soil must also meet safety standards. That is, you should not overstep the permissible limit of nitrates or other substances that you will introduce into the soil. Of course, you also need start-up funds that you can invest in the business.

Features of soil preparation and planting vegetables

In order for potato production to be profitable, you need to take care of the soil in which your "gold" will grow in advance. So, planting is done early enough, when the soil has already warmed up to +2 degrees. In addition, it must be plowed and fertilized. If there is little organic matter in the soil, and there is frost on the street, then it may simply freeze over, then there will be no sense in planting material.

Biohumus, wood ash, and bird droppings can be used as fertilizers. That is, soil enrichment is easy to make as cheap as possible. As for the landing, it has its own characteristics. For example, the depth of the hole should not exceed 7 cm, and the distance between the rows should be 80 cm. In this case, it is necessary to retreat 10 cm between the bushes so that the tubers can grow.

In addition, potatoes can be planted in advance. That is, you can plant it with green sprouts. This process should take place when maximum number sunlight, but not in direct sunlight.

Seed selection

The business plan for growing potatoes also provides for the correct selection of the source material. It must be of high quality, since even under ideal conditions, degenerate seeds will not give a good harvest. All you need is to purchase new tubers in the store, farming or via the Internet. Moreover, this should be done in early spring. Further, the new variety can be planted for several years in a row until it degenerates.

Please note that the seeds must be the same shape and size. The end product will also have the same potato size. In order to select material for the next planting, try to dig up the tubers 3 weeks after the beginning of flowering bushes. When doing this, choose thick stems of the same height. Naturally, you must note which variety was dug up and when.

Culture care

In order to develop potato cultivation as a business, you should definitely take care of the bushes. For example, it is necessary to organize the correct watering of the plants. For this, professional drip irrigation is used, equipped with soil moisture sensors and automated work. That is, if heavy rain has passed, the system will not work until the humidity level drops below the required level. In addition, the liquid should not get on the leaves and flowers.

Another important criterion is the regular fertilization of the bushes. For this, mineral and organic products should be used simultaneously. Potatoes can be processed even before planting, as well as during growth.

Naturally, the hilling procedure should be carried out, which not only opens air access to the potatoes, but also prevents weeds from growing. It must be carried out several times (at least 2).

Elimination of weeds and pests

As good as a potato business plan is, a good harvest depends on effective pest and weed control. In the second case, both mechanical and chemical elimination of unnecessary plants can be performed. Naturally, in large areas, the second type of event is used.

As for pests, especially the Colorado potato beetle, then you can't do without poison. Potatoes can be treated with pesticides before or after planting. In the first case, each vegetable is dipped in liquid. In this case, the beetles will not land on already green bushes.

Product handling and storage

Potato processing is a procedure that completely different people may already be doing. Your task is to properly process the material, as well as create all the conditions for proper storage. So, 40 days before you are going to plant potatoes, you need to spray a specially prepared solution on it. It is made from water (10 l), copper sulfate (20 g) and borax (100 g). It is necessary to process the tubers from all sides.

Now let's look at the features of storing potatoes. All storage facilities must meet the required standards. For you, this is the most important thing, because it depends on how much tubers can lie, how much of the total mass will need to be thrown away in case of decay (damage by rodents). That is, the room should have an optimal humidity level and a certain temperature (for winter storage).

Also, try to protect your warehouse from rodents and other pests.

Peculiarities of implementation and profitability of goods

A potato business can be very profitable. Naturally, before starting it, you will have to find those people who will buy the product. To do this, you need to research the market. You can offer your products to retail chains. At the same time, you must ensure that your product is of high quality: adhere to the actual shelf life, make sure that the vegetables are not damaged. To do this, substandard goods should be quickly removed from the shelves.

You can also sell potatoes in the market. In addition, with good promotion and excellent product quality, you will soon have wholesale customers. It is good if you trade when prices rise.

With regard to profitability, from 1 hectare of territory you can get about 20 tons of product using only 1 ton. In doing so, you must definitely plant, care for, dig up and store the potatoes correctly. Of course, you can't develop your business without starting costs. Therefore, below you will find out what exactly you have to spend money on.

Financial expenses

A high-quality business plan for growing potatoes provides for certain material investments. So, what do you need to spend money on:

 • Purchase of a product (500 kg of varietal potatoes - about $ 700, with ordinary seeds costing about $ 150 per half a ton).
 • Fertilizers and pesticides - up to $ 220.
 • Rent of heavy equipment for tillage - 10 USD e. per hour of work. At the same time, you have the opportunity to purchase your own mechanisms.
 • Packing for potatoes - about 75 cu e.
 • Fuels and lubricants - from $ 500.
 • Wages for workers - from 500 USD e.
 • Warehouse rent - approximately $ 800-1000 per month.

That is, the total cost is approximately 3500 USD. e. However, with high-quality planting, care, storage and timely implementation, the profit from 20 tons is $ 5,000. Naturally, there may be more.

The increase in the amount of profit depends only on your invested labor and successful marketing, as well as ways of caring for plants, the size of the planting area. So if you have your own plot on which you can build a warehouse for products and a garage for equipment, then business costs can be significantly reduced. So develop detailed plan implement this idea and go for it.

An agricultural business can be very profitable, but it must be approached wisely. Aspiring entrepreneurs very rarely pay attention to growing and selling potatoes. Although, this product very common and always used in great demand, but the business itself requires a lot of time, effort and financial costs.

Advantages and disadvantages of the potato business

Growing potatoes as a business has special advantages that play an important role in starting a business.

The profitability of the business is very high and amounts to 160%, since the product is in great demand, especially in large citieswhere there are no land plots or they are very small in size.

For doing business, special equipment is used for growing potatoes and for cultivating the land. Only a few small tractors will suffice here.

But there are also difficulties here, that is, the amount of the crop directly depends on the quality of the planting material, as well as weather conditions and the degree of protection from pests.

Do not forget that the soil where the potatoes are planted needs rest and regular fertilization, and tractors need fuels and lubricants. But the profitability very quickly covers all costs.

And you can start a potato business on a small plot, even from an area of 3 acres, you can collect about 250-300 kg of crops. In addition, special knowledge is not required to grow the product.

The disadvantages include the low price for the sale of potatoes and the fact that they can only be grown in the warm season.

How to grow potatoes

Before you start doing business, you should study the plan for growing the product, since the future harvest directly depends on proper planting and care.

Potatoes are one of the most weather and climate prone vegetables. You can grow it in two ways. The first is early ripening varieties that sit in greenhouses and go on sale in early spring, and the second is open ground and is sold for sale in the fall.

The first method is highly profitable, but also requires high costs for arranging greenhouses. But the second method is less costly and is ideal for beginners with a small initial capital.

Potato culture is early ripening and takes about 4 months from planting to harvesting. The cultivation technology is very simple and includes only a few basic stages of work:

 • preparation of seeds for planting;
 • site preparation and planting;
 • hilling and fertilization;
 • pest control;
 • cleaning and storage;
 • packing and sale.

Seed potatoes, which are purchased, must have all the required documents confirming the variety and high resistance to diseases, as well as productivity. The material for planting must meet strict requirements, the size of the tubers is about 3-5 cm in diameter. It is not recommended to mix tubers of different varieties when planting.

The vegetation of such plants should be at least 100%, and the yield should be stable and very high. If the reproduction of the product does not reach the 2nd degree, then it is not advisable to use it on seeds.

Seed preparation is carried out in autumn time, potatoes are sorted out. Only healthy tubers remain on the seeds, which do not have spots and sores, and are also not damaged by anything. After careful selection, they are landscaped, for this they are laid out in the light, for about 3 weeks. But direct rays are forbidden to them, only diffused light.

After landscaping, the seeds are removed to the warehouse for storage at a temperature of about +3 degrees and a humidity of at least 80%.

After storage, 30 days before planting, the seeds are taken out and transferred to a warm and bright place for germination. The sprout of potatoes ready for planting should be 1 cm.If large tubers come across, then they are carefully divided into 2 parts, leaving sprouts on both halves, there should be about 4 of them. To prevent cut tubers from rotting, it is recommended to treat the cuts with wood resin.

But when industrial potato cultivation takes place, it does not manually sort it out, the whole process is fully automated.

The timing of planting completely depends on the weather conditions, that is, in the south, potatoes can be planted in March, in the middle lane in early May, and in the north only at the beginning of summer. The temperature of the finished soil should be more than 12 degrees.

Soil preparation is carried out in advance, for this, digging with shovels is carried out in small areas, and in large areas the soil is plowed with a tractor. During preparation, the soil is loosened, as a result, the plant will have enough air and moisture.

The planting of the material is carried out in rows with a distance of at least 1 meter. This distance is required for the full development of bushes and easy processing and harvesting using special equipment.

When working with milling units, roots will not be damaged at this distance. If you save on distance, then even with manual cultivation, the roots can be damaged and the growing process will slow down significantly.

The tubers are planted to a depth of about 8 cm, and a ridge is formed on top of a height of about 10 cm. According to the standard, one square meter 30 bushes should be planted.

14 days after planting, all weeds are removed from the site, and the sprouts go through the first hillock, and an additional height of the ridges is created by another 10 cm.The soil on the ridge is only soft and loose, since new tubers will form in it.

If there is no rain, then watering is carried out 2 times in seven days. If a severe drought passes, then watering is carried out every day. If the weather is cloudy and there is high humidity outside, then it is advisable to reduce the amount of watering.

Potatoes are very fond of fertilizers, for this, horse or cow manure is required before planting in the ground.

When the bushes begin to bloom, they must be treated with Colorado potato beetle remedies and prevented from possible late blight. Treatment of plants from pests should be carried out about 5 times per season, but with strict adherence to the requirements of the processing intervals from the manufacturer.

Harvesting is carried out in the autumn after the tubers are fully ripe. This will significantly increase the shelf life and that's it. beneficial features product. For storage, special rooms are used in which the required temperature and humidity are maintained.

How to start a business

For a potato growing business to become profitable, you should not only learn the technology of growing the product, but also take care of the paperwork.

If you plan to grow goods on your own personal plot, then it is not necessary to draw up documents. But here there will be difficulties with the sale of products, it will be possible to sell only independently.

If you plan to do a large business, then you must register with the tax office as individual entrepreneur... For this, the form OKVED A. 01,13,21 and the system of taxation of the Unified Agricultural Taxation are selected, that is, as an entrepreneur agriculture.

When registering a potato business, it should be borne in mind that large buyers and retail chains prefer to work with individual entrepreneurs, rather than with private small businesses.

Selling features

The potato business will have a high income if permanent points of sale are found. For this, the market is monitored. You can start offering products to large retail chains.

It is also possible to sell on the market, especially if the sale is carried out at the time of the rise in prices for potatoes. In this case, you can find wholesale buyers.

But it is worth remembering that the product should only be high Quality without damage and with the correct shelf life.

A potato business can yield high yields. When planting one ton of seeds per hectare, you can harvest about 20 tons. And you can get a high income for such a volume only if you have a permanent point of sale.

Financial investments in business

A business plan for growing potatoes requires certain costs. Financial investments will be required for:

 1. purchase of seeds;
 2. purchase of fertilizers and pesticides;
 3. rent or purchase of equipment for growing potatoes;
 4. purchase of packaging for potatoes;
 5. warehouse lease;
 6. wages if workers are hired.

But if you follow all the technology for growing, then all these costs will quickly overlap. You can only increase your profits by applying strength and from marketing.

Cost reduction is made if you have your own warehouse, or a place for its construction, as well as your own agricultural machinery.

Profit in the potato business

The potato business requires initial cost estimates and estimated profits.

The costs include business registration, purchase of equipment, seeds and everything necessary for growing.

It is also worth mentioning the worker's salary, the cost of renting a stall, the amount of tax deductions and transportation costs.

Calculations are being made, that is, about 350 thousand were spent on creating a business, and total harvest amounted to 16 tons. After the goods were sorted out and about 2 tons of rejects were removed, 14 tons are spent on sale.

That is, when selling potatoes at a price of 50 rubles per kilogram, the total income will be 700,000 rubles. Net profit in this case, 350 thousand comes out.

The potato business, although it has high costs and a large investment of effort and labor, with the right approach, it brings high income in a short time, since the cultivation is carried out in just one season.

Potatoes are a popular agricultural crop, familiar to us from childhood. The advantages of this vegetable are that any novice farmer can start cultivating it without using special equipment. Of course, the processing of potato fields with special equipment significantly saves time, but, unlike other agricultural crops, potatoes can be planted and harvested by hand, without intermediate manipulations, that is, harvesting immediately occurs in the final stage and the potatoes, after drying, can be stored ...

Thanks to these advantages, novice farmers have a question - potato business is profitable or not? You will find the answer in this article.

Features of such a business

It is profitable to grow potatoes in various areas, but for a beginner the best option there will be a field of up to 2 hectares. The reasons:

 1. The specified area can be served by a family or even one person;
 2. In this case, the initial costs will be relatively small - up to 350 thousand rubles. This is taking into account the purchase of a mini-tractor (walk-behind tractor) with a set of appropriate equipment (hiller, plow, body, harvesting machine). The cost of all of the above will be at least 200 thousand rubles. If the cultivated area is relatively small (several tens of acres), then the family can do without a tractor, relying on their own strength, but realizing that all manipulations will take more time;
 3. With small volumes of potato cultivation, you can cope without interrupting the main work. That is, the sale of this vegetable will be an additional pleasant income, and the main job can become an excellent place to sell the finished crop;
 4. This area will be enough to gain experience in growing potatoes on an industrial scale.
Initial costs

As mentioned above, the main expense item will be a mini-tractor (walk-behind tractor) with the necessary set of equipment, in addition, in the first year of the formation of this business, a novice farmer will also have to shell out money for:

 1. Seed material Are potatoes intended for planting. You do not need to save on it, as this will affect the quality and quantity of the harvested crop. On average, you will have to spend 100 thousand rubles. Such a waste is a one-time next year the entrepreneur will be able to use his own potatoes as seed material. We recommend purchasing seed material from specialized nurseries, where you will be given a guaranteed variety. Since in the market, even with the appropriate documents, in the form of seed material, they can slip the wrong thing that you need;
 2. Land lease... If you don't have your own field, then for 2 hectares you will have to pay up to 7 thousand rubles annually (in many regions less);
 3. Fertilizers, protection against diseases, pests... On average, it will cost 10-25 thousand rubles. Moreover, taking into account that the procedures necessary to protect the vegetable will be performed by specialists. If the farmer wants to save money, then he can meet the modest 6-7 thousand rubles and do all the work on his own.
How to save

If there is no required amount for a tractor and equipment, then the financial burden can be reduced by purchasing everything you need on lease. In this case, you will immediately have to pay a third of the total cost. The rest of the amount can be paid over several years.

It will significantly help to reduce costs and purchase of a used tractor. If there is no money at all, then you can do without mechanical means, but the area of the site should be small (up to 10-100 acres). Instead of special equipment, you can attract handymen, their services are estimated at 100-200 rubles per hour. If you attract them to harvest potatoes, then payment can be replaced in kind, that is, a new crop.

Growing technology

Correct growing technology includes the following:

 1. Purchase, preparation of seed material;
 2. Soil preparation;
 3. Landing;
 4. Hilling;
 5. Fertilizer;
 6. Protection from all kinds of pests;
 7. Harvesting;
 8. Storage.
Seed material

Potatoes for planting should be purchased in the fall. Moreover, the seller is obliged to attach documents confirming high reproductive performance, absence of diseases, if they do not exist, then the buyer assumes all risks.

Seed material - these are medium-sized potatoes (3-5 cm in diameter), without traces of diseases, damage. All tubers must be of the same variety.

Before planting, all purchased seed material must be "greened". Why is it placed in a cool (temperature should be within 1-3 ° C), humid room, where there is diffused sunlight. The tubers should be there for 20 days.

Also, before planting, potatoes need to be germinated. For what it is moved to a warm (temperature should be in the range of 12-15 ° C), bright room. Tubers are considered ready for planting after the appearance of strong, thick shoots, the length of which is at least one and a half centimeters.

To prevent various diseases, the farmer must place the seed in a boric acid solution. The duration of the procedure is 20 minutes.

Soil preparation

The soil in which the potatoes will be planted should be loose, which will allow the tubers to easily develop and receive the required amount of oxygen. To do this, even in the fall, the soil must be dug up, plowed or loosened. Moreover, the last option is the most correct way. Also, you need to add to the soil:

 1. Wood ash, which not only feeds the potato, but also protects it from the larvae of the wireworm, the Colorado potato beetle;
 2. Humus, which feeds the potatoes and also warms the soil.
Planting potatoes for sale

This procedure is carried out when the ground warms up to 8 ° C, and to a depth of 10 cm. An important indicator the planting density is, so the optimal pattern is 75x50 cm. This means that the distance between the rows should be 75 cm, and the same indicator between the bushes of the same row is 50 cm. But the optimal schemes for different varieties may differ. especially if they are early. For example, the popular type of domestic potato Ryabinushka sits according to the 60X30 scheme.

Planting depth of tubers 4-8 cm.

Hilling

A week after planting the potatoes, weeds appear and this is a signal about the need to hilling. This procedure prevents the growth of all kinds of weeds, and, most importantly, provides sufficient ventilation of the roots, tubers and allows them to develop. Which helps to increase the yield. Hilling is performed at least twice during the growing season. Each time, the layer of soil under the potato bush must be increased by 10 cm.

Fertilizer

When planting, manure should be applied, when it is necessary to save money, then it is changed to bone meal, chicken droppingsothers organic fertilizers... If the land is not depleted, then all of this will be enough for the entire season. But, when the soil contains a small amount of nutrients, then you need to be ready to use chemical fertilizers.

Protection from pests, diseases

Insecticide treatment is a mandatory procedure, it is performed after the beginning of flowering of the bushes, if necessary, and later. You also need to fight late blight, for which spraying is performed. In total, 5-6 such procedures may be needed per season.

Harvesting

The fact that it is time to harvest the potatoes is evidenced by the drying tops, which should be mowed. And after 2 weeks, the tubers themselves are removed from the ground.

Storage

For long-term storage, potatoes are dried in the fresh air for two weeks and then stored in a ventilated basement.

How to get the maximum profitcultivating potatoes for sale

Russian potato growers are accustomed to violating existing cultivation technologies, this is done in order to save money. In fact, in our country, of the necessary procedures, only planting, subsequent hilling, and collection are often performed. Diseases are fought by removing the affected bushes. And in the role of seed material, unusable tubers are used. This is no coincidence, such savings still allow you to get 18-20 tons of potatoes from each hectare. That is, cutting the volume of work is one of the growing methods.

But still, the maximum profit is provided by modern technologies, for example, such as the Dutch method, which is the creation of ridges from the soil where potatoes are planted.

Also effective way cultivation is mulching with straw, which protects against weeds, creates the desired microclimate, and prevents dehydration.

It is difficult to imagine a more demanded vegetable on the table of a domestic consumer than potatoes. We love and honor this root vegetable, respectfully calling it the second bread. In addition, it is in increasing demand among European companies, which makes it possible for Russian farmers to grow it for export.

It is also worth noting the growth of the needs of the domestic market, where demand significantly exceeds supply. Thus, there will be enough place in this niche of agricultural production for everyone: both small and large entrepreneurs.

It should be understood that running any business of your own has both advantages and disadvantages. And the potato business is no exception.

The main advantages that make it possible to quickly make a project profitable include:

 • independence of demand for a product from the season (the vegetable is equally in demand by Russians at any time, and the cost of early potato varieties is especially high);
 • unpretentiousness and good adaptability of the root crop to climatic conditions and soil;
 • seasonal payback of the project (with a competent approach, the business will begin to bring real income in 4-5 months);
 • low price for fertilizers and the possibility of using production waste (for example, tops) to improve the quality and fertility of the soil.

If we are talking about small and medium-sized businesses in villages or villages, tax exemption will become an added bonus and financial support for future farmers. In addition, you can save on wages for employees by contacting local residents, and here there is already a mutual benefit: your fund is decreasing wages, local residents get new jobs.

Growing a vegetable for sale has its own characteristic disadvantages and risks, most of which, with timely measures, can be minimized:

 • seasonal heat - it is better to immediately spend money on the irrigation system than trying to save the remnants of the crop;
 • man is not the only fan of this root vegetable. As soon as the first tops appear, pests will begin to precipitate the plants. Timely fight against them will get rid of the problem;
 • contaminated planting material will nullify all your efforts and destroy all plants.

And, perhaps, the main drawback of business is its seasonality, which, if desired, can be turned into an advantage. After working for several months, you can relax or think about a new project.

How to organize similar business according to European standards, in the following video:

Landing area

According to experts, the cultivation of potatoes involves the use of areas of the order 250-300 ha... However, the availability of territories is not enough for a good harvest and a stable profit. In order for the land to be fertile, it is necessary to prepare it for planting crops. The most suitable time is September-October (before the first frost).

The land is cleared of weeds, debris and stones, loosened up, avoiding mixing of the soil layers. It's time to think about fertilization. It is better to break this process into several stages, saturating the soil with all new micronutrients. Better to use only natural organic fertilizers... By the way, it is extremely unreasonable to save on fertilizing the land - a small amount of organic matter, even with a slight decrease in temperature, will lead to freezing of the soil, and no matter what planting material you choose, the harvested crop will not pay off the costs.

Preparation of planting material

High-quality planting material is clean, medium-sized tubers without visible signs of disease and defects... With the onset of autumn, the selected material is "greened", leaving it for 2-3 weeks in the light (avoiding excessive sun). This is done in order to improve the quality of the tuber and its resistance to the decay process.

Then the potatoes are placed in a dark, cool and humid room, where they are stored until spring. About a month before planting in the ground, the planting material needs a warm and light storage in order to be able to sprout. Large specimens are cut into pieces, each of which will subsequently also be covered with steams. The cut sites are treated with ash for disinfection purposes.

Before landing in the ground, they dig up the earth. For comfortable growth of culture and convenience of technical processing, the distance in rows between bushes of about 1 meter should be observed. The distance between the rows is 30-40 cm.

The time period for starting planting is determined by the temperature factor. As soon as the soil warms up to 8-10 degrees at a depth of 10-15 cm, you can start.

Care, collection and storage

A couple of weeks after planting, the first hilling is carried out (it will allow the soil to breathe, make it soft and loose), the first weeds are removed.

During the beginning of flowering, young bushes literally attract Colorado beetles. In large quantities, they are able to destroy the entire crop in the shortest possible time. To avoid this, they carefully spray the aerial part of the plant.

Watering is carried out regularly - potatoes do not tolerate drought well. In extreme heat, daily watering is shown, normally enough once every 3-4 days.

Harvesting is carried out after the final ripening of the tuber. In this case, all the useful properties of the product will be preserved as much as possible.

Store the vegetable in a well ventilated, ventilated warehouses. Perfect option - dark, dry, moderately cool storage. Before laying, the product is thoroughly dried in the open air. Defective tubers should be stored separately to prevent the spread of rot.

Sales channels

Depending on the volume and specifics of doing business, the harvested crop can be sold in the following ways:

 • Self market implementation... It is justified in case of relatively small volumes, availability of time and proper conditions, ensuring high-quality long-term storage of the product.
 • Hand over for implementation... On the one hand, it is convenient and fast, on the other, it entails certain financial losses. This option is suitable for farmers who own large areas and harvest a good harvest. When good quality they will not have problems with the sale.
 • Conclusion of contracts with large retail outlets and supermarkets. An important point: the price of packaged potatoes is twice as high as sold in regular bags. Packaging equipment will quickly pay for itself even with small production volumes. Today, more than 50 percent of domestic potatoes are sold through the trade network.

It is preferable to think about distribution channels in advance. This is not only time saving, it is an opportunity to preserve the harvest and bring a quality product to the consumer, having received a decent payment for it.

Business costs and profitability

The potato business is a profitable business compared to growing other types of crops. Even taking into account the initial investment with a well-designed business plan, the costs will pay off within a few months, and the profitability will be at least 150%.

The cost part of the project will be:

 • land lease - 20% (while lease of at least 2.5-3 hectares of land is considered profitable);
 • special agricultural machinery (as a rule, this expense item accounts for about 25% of the total investment);
 • payroll (20 percent);
 • planting material (20 percent);
 • transportation costs, fuel, chemicals and organics (about 15%).

It should be understood that already in the second year of the project, the cost part changes downward: there is no need to purchase equipment (the operating costs of the existing one are minimal). And even with a good harvest, your own planting material may be enough.

Among other things, the potato business has excellent prospects - the possibility of its further processing into raw materials is not far off. And these are completely different profits.

Potatoes, being the most profitable agricultural product, are nevertheless very demanding on the technologies of cultivation, processing, storage. This product does not forgive negligence, however, qualitative approach to all stages of production will make your enterprise successful, profitable and prosperous.
