Our colleagues often share their experience on the pages of the magazine. One of the articles in this issue tells about the All-Russian action "Library Night". For some, it was "Library Twilight." The head of the department of the regional library of Svetlogorsk, the Republic of Belarus, Valentina Rasoshenko, presents her project “Bibliosumerek”, and summing up the results, speaks about the effectiveness of such events.

“Planetarium” on the library terrace (here in the evening you could watch the stars through a real telescope), “Salon of fashionable hats”, where real excitement reigned, were the most visited corners of the library that evening. Everyone who crossed the threshold of the "Salon", eyes ran up from the variety of all kinds of hats and hats, and everyone could choose an outfit to their liking and take a picture, first answering the questions of the exhibition-quiz "Who is hiding under a hat?" There are creative personalities in every team. And the conversation about these people, real professionals, is conducted by the authors of the journal: L. One of the fastest and most affordable ways is to read professional literature - books and periodicals. After all, the media, including professional ones, not only broadcast, but also form the ideology, cultural and information policy, influencing the self-consciousness of the librarian.
Our list reflects journals and books for professional reading, received in the collection of the Central Public Library in 2006-2007.

To make it easier to use our manual, we have divided the materials into sections. Within the chapters, all editions are listed in alphabetical order by authors or titles.

The first section - "Professional periodicals" - introduces you to the periodicals that entered the library fund in 2007. On their pages you can get acquainted with the best practices of other libraries, borrow some ideas from our colleagues. The scientific and practical collection is an ongoing review, analytical and reference publication carried out within the framework of the Russian Library Yearbook project, the materials of which are based on monitoring professional document flow... Published as an appendix to the journal "Library Science". The first issue was published in 2002 as a pilot with a circulation of 300 copies.
There are two main sections in the edition: the first includes overview and analytical, the second - reference materials. In accordance with its readership and intended purpose, publications in it are predominantly of a scientific and practical nature, and the collection itself has an interdepartmental and interregional character. The latter means that both the “central” (federal) and regional document flows are comprehensively analyzed, and, if possible, what characterizes the activities of departmental library networks. On this basis, in particular, articles are based on, for example, agricultural, educational - school and university libraries, as well as the network of libraries of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the context of information and library provision of science. The activity of medical and hospital libraries is considered from the position of library and information support of medical science and practice.
The selection of articles for the first, review and analytical, section of the collection was carried out, first of all, taking into account the innovative trends in the development of librarianship, reflected in certain parts of the document flow. If you think that the junior manager Korolyov, tormented by his metaphysical illness, has been drinking bitterly, has fallen into reflection or self-digging, then you are deeply mistaken. Growing up in a boarding school and matured in a hostel, during his life he was acutely aware of homelessness, a fan of leaving light, throwing things and the past, Korolyov was internally ready for such an existential escape.
