  • One of the oldest professional journals in librarianship is the Library magazine. In 2010, the magazine celebrated its 100th anniversary.

The journal covers issues of the specifics of the work of various types of libraries, the problems of the sociology of reading, fund research, training and advanced training of librarians, the introduction of new technologies, library local history; published materials on the history and theory of librarianship. Articles about mass work libraries.

The last issue of the magazine (No. 3) for this year opens with an article by Valentina Sorokina, head of the Central Children's Library of Moscow, "Green Planet". The article is devoted to the ecological direction in the work of the children's library. The author shares his findings in the work. "Moore Tournament", "Dog Show" with the participation of animals have become traditional in the work of this library and, of course, are very popular with children and their parents. Book-illustrative exhibitions, ecological window "The Seasons" enjoy the attention of both children and adults. In addition, the library has ecological clubs "Pchelka" and "Ushastik".

In the heading "News from the Regions" the theme of ecology is continued. Quest game, virtual travel game, quizzes, acquaintance with the work of a naturalist writer - these events take place both in city children's libraries and in district ones.

Our colleagues often share their experience on the pages of the magazine. One of the articles in this issue tells about the All-Russian action "Library Night". For some, it was "Library Twilight." The head of the department of the regional library of Svetlogorsk, the Republic of Belarus, Valentina Rasoshenko, presents her project “Bibliosumerek”, and summing up the results, speaks about the effectiveness of such events.

“Planetarium” on the library terrace (here in the evening you could watch the stars through a real telescope), “Salon of fashionable hats”, where real excitement reigned, were the most visited corners of the library that evening. Everyone who crossed the threshold of the "Salon", eyes ran up from the variety of all kinds of hats and hats, and everyone could choose an outfit to their liking and take a picture, first answering the questions of the exhibition-quiz "Who is hiding under a hat?" And the heroes of literary works and characters from the paintings of famous artists were hiding under the hat.

The finale of the event was the launch of colorful glowing balls into the night sky to the sound of music. The discovery for many visitors was that the library can be interesting and that librarians are creative personalities!

There are creative personalities in every team. And the conversation about these people, real professionals, is conducted by the authors of the journal: L. Ryabchenko in the article "Nomination of the Year: Bibliophilia-2013"; Olga Torchilo, representing the Bravo Association of Young Librarians, Tavrichesky District, Omsk Region; Tatyana Kerbikova from Uglich in the article “Development of a specialist and improvement of an institution”.

The heading "Territory of reading" is always interesting. The work on promoting reading in Vorkuta is presented by Natalia Kovalskaya, the chief librarian of the Central Library System “The art of creating an event. Street action in plans and in life ”is the title of her article and it will be about the participation of libraries in citywide events, about the already traditional street actions“ Book. Summer. The youth". In order for these colorful, bright, memorable events to be successful, a lot of preparatory work is being done: rating polls, questionnaires of different readership groups, and various studies. This identifies the literature most read by the younger generation, which is then used in activities to promote reading.

The Bibliopole magazine has been published for over ten years. All this time, despite the years of crisis, he has not changed his mission. In its headings ("In the world", "Piggy bank", "To the very outskirts", "Methodical book" and others) "Bibliopole" not only provides methodological and advisory assistance to readers, but also raises questions of advanced training of librarians, the quality of recruitment, etc. e. The journal still pays attention to general education, intellectual development of readers, highlights the experience of Russian librarians and foreign colleagues.

The last issue of the magazine for 2014 (№4) contains many interesting materials dedicated to the Year of Culture.

There is a special library on the Old Arbat in Moscow - the Losev House. It has existed for ten years. The staff of this library opened the first intelligence center in Russia, which specializes in the history of Russian philosophy and culture.

The unique experience of the Moscow specialized library is introduced by the article by the correspondent of the magazine "Bibliopole" Elena Sokurenko "The Silver Age in the House of Losev". The vast fund of this institution is distinguished by its versatility, encyclopedic nature, and historical depth. In addition to organizing meetings, seminars and lectures, specialists are doing serious work to create an electronic full-text library. Preparing to celebrate its tenth anniversary, the library is leading scientific activityconnected with the study of the creative heritage, not only A.F. Losev, but also many prominent Russian philosophers.

"The Road to the Spiritual Temple" is a project of the authors of the Nizhny Novgorod State Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V.I. Lenin. An article by the deputy director for scientific and methodological work, Margarita Kuvshinova, tells about the work of her colleagues in the moral and ethical education of the population. Using the rich experience of educational activities and the available information resources, libraries are fulfilling their most important task - the revival of the best personal qualities of our young compatriots. Spiritual and moral centers and corners of Orthodox culture operating at institutions, holding meetings, presentations, thematic exhibitions help to introduce the inhabitants of many villages and villages to Christian values, even remote from churches.

Ivanov is one of the most common surnames in our country. Many of its carriers can be found among writers, especially Siberian ones. Therefore, it is no coincidence that the collective creative projectdedicated to the anniversary dates of the authors of the Novosibirsk region was named "The First Ivanov Readings". About what issues he covered, as well as about the sociological study of the level of knowledge of Siberians about writers-fellow countrymen, carried out in its framework, the article by the head of the sector for mass work of the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library Larisa Gelshert “The visiting card of the region - famous people Siberia ". The participants of the event made an important conclusion: the literary study of local lore does not die, the works of local authors are worthy of taking their place in the cultural heritage of the region.

“The world is endlessly interesting, magic world... ". Material of the Deputy Director of the Centralized Library System of Tambov Natalia Sorokina. A rich, dynamic script full of beautiful verses has been prepared for our professional holiday. It includes the holding of an annual awards ceremony for achievements in the field of library activities, demonstration of the results of their activities (clips and bookrailers), as well as many warm words to colleagues.

    Introduction

The key to the successful work of any institution is the high professionalism of its employees. This is also true for libraries. How can you improve your professional level? One of the fastest and most affordable ways is to read professional literature - books and periodicals. After all, the media, including professional ones, not only broadcast, but also form the ideology, cultural and information policy, influencing the self-consciousness of the librarian.
Our list reflects journals and books for professional reading, received in the collection of the Central Public Library in 2006-2007.
We hope that with the help of the offered literature you will be able to continue your self-education, and apply fresh ideas in your work, and find a book for yourself.
To make it easier to use our manual, we have divided the materials into sections. Within the chapters, all editions are listed in alphabetical order by authors or titles.

The first section - "Professional periodicals" - introduces you to the periodicals that entered the library fund in 2007. On their pages you can get acquainted with the best practices of other libraries, borrow some ideas from our colleagues. And your publications in the professional press will allow you to convey your opinion to those who are interested and important, because a librarian is a specialist who, by the nature of his work, not only has to read a lot, but sometimes also write.
Each edition presented in the section is provided with a brief annotation giving information not only about its subject matter and focus, but also about when it was first published, how often it is published, and which department of the library subscribes it. We have also placed the e-mail addresses of publications that have their own sites.
At the end of the section, there is a separate list of periodicals published in Russia and not subscribed by our library.

The second section - "Books for professionals" - reflects textbooks, collections of scientific reports, methodological materials covering various issues of advertising and information activities of libraries; its legal, technological, psychological and pedagogical, ethical, organizational and technological aspects. The proposed editions provide recommendations on the use of modern information technologies, highlights the actual theoretical and methodological issues of organizing family reading in children's libraries.

The third section is “ Competition works"- presents materials that have become winners and laureates at the Fourth All-Russian Competition for Public Libraries" Modern Trends in Readers' Service ". The theme for 2007 is “Building a Reading Partnership”. You can find information about other works sent to the competition in the Electronic catalog of our library, and the works themselves are in the Unified Fund of the library.

The fourth section - "Books for the soul" - introduces authors and books that won the largest literary awards in 2007. Among the winners of both foreign - the Nobel and Booker Prizes, and Russian literary prizes - "Big Book", "Russian Booker" - female authors prevail. Unfortunately, the library fund does not have all the winning works, the same ones that we have are provided with information about the storage location in the library.

The main character of the novel is Daniel Stein, a Jewish youth of Polish origin. When the Germans occupied Poland, he got a job as an interpreter in the Gestapo to save people and organized the escape of hundreds of people from the Emsky ghetto. In post-war Poland, Stein converted to Catholicism, went to Israel and preached Christianity among Jews. It causes discontent in both Israel and the Vatican, but this does not stop him from trying to save people. The main conviction of the hero and the author - it doesn't matter what you believe in, only your personal behavior matters - makes the novel burningly relevant for our society, devoid of personal responsibility.

Alexey Illichevsky became the laureate of the 2007 Russian Booker literary prize. The jury recognized his novel "Matisse" as the best work of the year, written in Russian.

    Ilichevsky A. Matisse / Alexey Ilichevsky // New world. - 2007. - N 2 - S. 8-180.

Once upon a time there was a Muscovite Leonid Korolev, a man of about thirty-five, a former physicist, now a commodity coordinator of a small-scale wholesale office. And he was ... a living corpse. Korolyov was unable to take pleasure in simple entities. "He did not fully enjoy a difficult and joyful life, since he always took abundance for a harbinger of shortage." He was eaten by the desire "to distance, to wrap up the black fire of longing, which now constantly burned him from within, spreading through all the nooks and crannies ..."
This is how the novel Matisse, twice shortlisted for the Big Book Prize, Alexander Ilichevsky, begins. This novel is both classic and shocking, impetuous and thoughtful, modernist and psychological.
If you think that the junior manager Korolyov, tormented by his metaphysical illness, has been drinking bitterly, has fallen into reflection or self-digging, then you are deeply mistaken. He, without thinking twice, went to wander around the "invisible" Moscow. In other words, he tried to become a vagabond.
Growing up in a boarding school and matured in a hostel, during his life he was acutely aware of homelessness, a fan of leaving light, throwing things and the past, Korolyov was internally ready for such an existential escape. Having abandoned an uncomfortable apartment in a house on Malaya Gruzinskaya (for which he had not yet paid a private loan), a car of a non-prestigious model, a hateful job for a boring owner, Korolyov made his Tolstoyan "departure".
But he studied to be a "secret" physicist, could become the brain of some space or nuclear project. In the early 90s, abandoning science, he went into small business, changed a dozen jobs, before finding a relatively stable position. But the "fire of longing" drove him in search of adventure.
Korolev saw a completely different Moscow. Not at all the one he saw as a pedestrian and a car driver. And not even the one that he looked into the corner, working as an insurance agent (the city of industrial zones, freight terminals, warehouses, freight stations). Now a completely different, parallel Moscow opened up to him.
It was truly fantastic, scary, but also mesmerizing, alluring city. Korolyov spent the night in abandoned attics and in old railway carriages, explored basements and dilapidated factory buildings. Through this chaos and confusion, he saw a strange harmony, heard the grinding music of the metropolis. This escape became for him an initiation, a creative act, a step towards transformation. “This trip seemed like a plunge into true reality. He gradually trained a predatory intent, which swept away the covers of both the constructive debris of our time and just asphalt. This creative intent gave him the pleasure of rebuilding the city in his own way. "

The eleventh winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature was the writer Doris Lessing. And, it seems, for the first time in for a long time The Nobel Committee was guided exclusively by literary considerations. Yes, the official statement says that the award goes to Doris Lessing as "the author of epics in which a writer with her feminine experience, skepticism and visionary power has analyzed a modern fragmented civilization." But of course, keyword here - "epic". Such prose has not been written for a long time, and the writer herself did it a long time ago. Today she is the oldest laureate ever to receive Nobel Prize but literature. No, she is cheerful, and, as they say, the representatives of the Swedish Academy could not get through to her right away, because she was just going shopping at that time. Lessing’s news was not at all stunned: “I have been nominated for 30 years in a row, so it didn’t come as a big surprise,” she said. “Now there are more important things to keep in mind. I have already received every conceivable European award, and now - imy notes. Fantasy!".

    D. Lessing. Summer before Sunset; Let's get married/ D. Lessing, D. Updike. - M.: ART, 1992 .-- 384 p.

Doris Lessing's novel Summer Before Sunset is apparently not eventful. His heroine is an attractive woman of Balzac's age; by chance, she is cut off from her usual, calm life. Whether she finds herself in new conditions, whether she is affirmed in her searches - the author leaves it to his reader to judge.
