What you need to sculpt flowers from polymer clay. DIY polymer clay jewelry - projects for beginners. Overview of Transparent Polymer Clay

In the 30s in Germany, they invented a chic material for creating extraordinary products - polymer clay. At first, dolls were made with the help of it, but in the 60s it rapidly gained popularity, after which clay began to be used to create various sculptures and compositions.

Now from this material they create original jewelry, souvenirs, flowers. Wedding bouquets are excellently obtained from polymer clay, so clay has become an indispensable material for wedding celebrations.

You, too, can learn how to make chic crafts from this wonderful material. In order to create your first masterpiece, it will be enough for you to familiarize yourself with the material below.

Polymer clay modeling tools

  • Work surface. You can take a flat and perfectly level board made of glass or plastic, tiles or ceramics.
  • Knife. Suitable for both office and construction. Have spare blades on hand.
  • Rolling pin made of acrylic - very convenient when rolling out clay.
  • A syringe and various attachments, with which you can make a variety of stripes, floral elements.
  • Forms for cutting figures (cutters).
  • Stacks.
  • Polymer clay.
  • Polymer varnish.
  • Brushes different sizes.
  • Toothpicks.
  • Napkins.
  • Hardware items.

Before starting work, the clay must be kneaded well.

  1. Wash your hands well first, as clay absorbs various dirt well. Working area keep it clean too. Gather your hair or put a kerchief over your head.
  2. Apply talcum powder to the clay to prevent debris from sticking to it.
  3. Calculate the amount of clay correctly because colored clay has a short shelf life.
  4. When the clay dries up, do not lose heart, but simply add regular hand cream to the material, but not much.
  5. Be careful with pottery - they are quite fragile.
  6. Save packaging with material only when closed. To make the clay serve you for a long time, put a damp cloth there.

Polymer clay at home

If you do not have the opportunity to purchase ready-made clay in the store, then below is the recipe homemade of this material.

You will need: butter for children, flour (1 teaspoon), regular white glue (1 teaspoon), cornstarch (1 teaspoon).

Combine starch, glue, add flour. Stir until the mixture looks like clay. Then add five or six drops of oil to keep the clay from sticking to your hands. To make the clay colored, take some of this material in your hand, drip some acrylic paint and knead in your hand.

Polymer clay flowers

Callas

For those who are just getting started with polymer clay, calla lilies are the easiest to make. This is a very simple craft and can be completed in a matter of minutes. And if you decorate the resulting flower with beads and insert a special hook into them, you get gorgeous earrings.

Get a couple of clay flowers, a toothpick, a stationery knife, rubber gloves, and beads.

From the clay pieces, make sausages, then roll them around one another. Roll the resulting product into a ball. Do these manipulations until you get a marbled color. Then, using a knife, cut the ball into two equal parts.

Make a rounded flat plate and stretch out its edge a little, which you pin with your fingers. Gently roll up the opposite edge (like a paper bag).

Straighten the edges, correct. You should have a drop-down bud. Make small holes with a toothpick and insert an earring and beads into the flower.

Lily

Lily is more difficult to make than calla lilies, but the result is worth it!

Take the clay of the color you like, a bottle or rolling pin, an awl or a large needle, a knife, paints (preferably watercolor), brushes, paper clips.

Put gloves on your hands, take a piece of clay, roll it out thinly, outline the petals. Draw out the borders of the petals with a needle. You should have three large and three small petals. Small petals will be in the center of the flower.

Cut the resulting petals with a knife or scissors. Draw veins on the petals - it looks very beautiful.

Let the resulting components dry, while you yourself make the center of the flower, namely the pistil and stamens. Roll out the clay and cut into thin strips. Make a strip for the pestle wider, apply brown to its tip. Use a needle to twist the edges of the smaller petals. Straighten a paper clip and attach the flower to it, starting with the pistil and stamens. Next, attach the petals symmetrically.

rose flower

Roses are considered the most sought after flowers, even if they are made from polymer clay. To make this beauty, take polymer clay, put gloves on your hands.

Make a sausage from a piece of clay, cut it into pieces, from which make balls of different diameters. Nine balls will be enough if the rose is small.

Blind oval petals from balls. To do this, put a ball on the left palm, on which we press with the thumb of the right hand. Form a petal. We make the edges of the petal thinner and the base denser. We do this with all the balls. After that we collect the rose. Make the middle of the flower - roll one petal into a roll. Next, we attach the petals to the center from the smallest to the largest. Make sure that each petal covers the middle of the previous one.

The rose is done. It is great for decorating various accessories. Will look great as a fridge magnet.

Orchid

After you have practiced making a rose and calla lilies, you can start making an exquisite flower - an orchid. For work, take clay, a flat board, gloves, a rolling pin, a wire, a special form for cutting, a knife, a brush, paint, mold, a stick with a rounded tip.

Use a stick to paint a piece of clay and make a small ledge in the middle. Cut out a cross with a mold - this will be the middle of the flower. If there is no shape, then draw the core yourself. We take the resulting part in our hands and bend its upper tip inward. Using a stick, bend the rest of the blanks in the same way.

We take the wire, bend it in the form of a right angle. On the tip of the wire we put the middle of the flower, smeared with glue. Blind the middle part of the flower sponge from a small piece of clay. To do this, make a grain out of it and cut it a little with a knife. Wire it in the middle of the sponge. Color the flower lip.

After that, we make petals. Roll out the painted clay piece, which has a ledge. We put the blank on the mold, cut off the excess. We attach the wire to the base. In the same way, we make five more petals. Draw dots on all the petals. Take all the petals, lip, connect. The result is a gorgeous orchid!

Crafts made with polymer clay are gaining popularity every day, a type of ceramic floristry is developing. They sell well and are highly regarded.

It should be noted that modeling from this type of material is in demand not only among needlewomen. Children are becoming more and more interested in this type of art. This activity is very exciting, with its help your child will actively develop and relax. Children with great pleasure will help you make crafts and decorations.

Learn to create masterpieces from polymer clay, and it will open for you new world art with which you can create chic jewelry and even have additional income from your work!

Polymer clay - unique material, with which you can create amazing sculptures, decorations, crafts and bouquets. It was invented in Germany in the 1930s for making dolls, but later in the 1960s, clay became widespread and was used to make all kinds of things.

Very popular polymer clay products are flowers and flower bouquets... You don't have to be a sculptor or have artistic super powers to learn how to sculpt flowers. It is enough to have good taste, know the basics of sculpting, be patient and train a lot.

There are several types of clay: self-hardening and firing... For flowers and flower arrangements, the first is usually perfect. After manufacturing, after a certain time, the product will harden itself. Fired clay is usually used for products that must be very durablefor example for decoration.

1) Polymer clay for beginners flowers. Polymer clay feces

These simple kala flowers are very easy to make and only take a few minutes to make. In this case, the flower is decorated with beads and attached to a hook, so the result is very simple but cute earrings.

What you need:

- Clay of two colors

- Latex gloves

- Toothpick

- Knife

- Beads and hooks-earrings

Let's get to work:

Take two small pieces of polymer clay of different colors that match each other. You will need two colors to get the "marbled pattern". You can first practice on clay of the same color.

Roll each piece into long sausages.

Wrap one around the other.

Then roll into a ball.

Do this process again from the beginning. This is necessary for a marbled effect. Wrap one sausage around the other and then tear it into several pieces. After that, roll it into a ball, as shown in the photo:

Divide the ball into two equal parts with a sharp knife.

Then start sculpting the flowers. Form a flat round plate, slightly lengthen the edge. Pinch the edge with your fingers, gently wrap the other edge in the same way as paper bags are folded to make a funnel.

Spread the edges of the flower to make the bud open. Use a toothpick to punch a hole for the beads and earring.

The blank for the future earring is ready. Insert the hardware and beads.

2) Modeling of flowers from polymer clay. Lily made of polymer clay

You will have to tinker a little with this flower, but if you understand the principle, everything will turn out quite simple. This master class shows how to do very tiny lily, but you can use it to make flowers of any size.

What you need:

- Clay of the same color

- Glass rolling pin or bottle

- Knife or scissors

- Needle or awl

- Watercolors and brush

- Paperclip

Let's get to work:

Take a small piece of clay, it is better if it is white or beige clay - the colors of natural flowers, but you can use any color you like.

Roll the clay into a thin sheet with a rolling pin. The thickness of the sheet in this example is 3-4 times the thickness of a regular sheet of paper. Make sure that the sheet is not too thin, as it will be difficult to work with.

Using a needle or awl, outline the shape of the petals - 6 in total, of which three are slightly larger and three are smaller. Smaller petals will be attached closer to the stamens in the product.

Then, using a fine needle, apply ribbing to each petal. Although natural lilies do not have this texture, they will look very beautiful with a polymer flower.

You should get these petals:

In lilies, the central part of the petals is usually colored yellow, and there are also brown "freckles". These details can be applied to the petals using watercolors and a brush.

Now you need to work on the inner part of the flower, or rather its stamens and pistil, which are cut out with a knife from the same flat sheet of clay. Make the pistil a little thicker and paint the tip with brown paint.

Using an awl, fold the edges of the small petals inward. Prepare a paperclip with a straightened end. A flower will be attached to it.

Let's start collecting a flower:

3) Polymer clay for flowers. Polymer clay rose

Roses are the most popular flowers made from polymer clay. They are usually made from many individual petals that need to be prepared in advance.

Option 1 (simple)

What you need:

- Clay of the same color

-Latex gloves

Let's get to work:

Roll a sausage from a piece of clay, and then divide it into many parts - future petals. Form petals in different sizes as shown in the photo.

Roll the smallest petal so that you get the middle of the flower, and then attach the rest of the petals to it in turn, starting from the smallest to the largest.

The simplest rose is ready. It can be used for jewelry if you attach fittings to it.

Option 2 (hard)

If you are already a little more comfortable with a material like polymer clay, you will most likely want to learn how to make more complex pieces. To do this, you will need additional materials and forms, which can be purchased in specialized stores or on the Internet.

Try making a more realistic rose using these tools.

What you need:

- Clay of two colors

- Latex gloves

- A board for work

- Rolling pin for rolling out

- Cutting forms (for flower petals)

- Mold for rose petal (optional)

- Cup mold (optional)

- Clay glue with brush

- Knife

- Green sticky tape for the stems

Let's get to work:

Take a wire for flowers about 20 centimeters long and bend one end of it to create a hook. This is the future stem of the rose. Roll a ball out of a piece of clay, and then shape it into a drop.

Stick a wire into the base of the drop. If you have a ready-made flower mold, you can compare a drop to the size of the petals. They need to be slightly larger to wrap it up. This is the base of your bud. The color of the clay for the drop can be any; it will not be visible under the petals.

Roll out the clay into a thin sheet and use a mold to cut the five-pointed flower. If you do not have such a shape, make it out of cardboard and cut out the flower with a knife. Cut off 2 petals. Then, using a stack with a ball at the end, process the edges of the petals so that they become thinner. Use a petal mold as well.

Coat the base of the bud with glue and start wrapping the petals around it so that you have a closed pink bud.

Take two more petals, coat them with glue where they will touch the bud, and wrap them around the bud again, not so tight.

Now prepare the triple petals. Wrap them around the bud as shown in the photo. Remember to grease them with glue. The more petals you have, the more magnificent the rose will turn out. In this case, three more triple petals were used.

Then use a full 5 petals. Turn the bud over and press down on the base of the flower.

Repeat the procedure with one more five-pointed flower. You should have a rose like this:

But that is not all. To make the flower look quite like a real one, attach 5 more lower petals to it, each of which will be attached to a wire. Secure all the stems with tape or tape, wrapping them around the bundle of wire.

To make a flower cup, take a piece of green clay. Shape into a cup and roll out the edges with a thin rolling pin. Use a mold or knife to cut out the five-pointed star. For realism, cut the edges with a knife.

Work the inside of the bowl with glue and glue it to the base of the flower, making a hole with the stem wire. Wrap the stalk with green tape.

4) Modeling flowers from polymer clay. Polymer clay orchid

Phaselis orchid ("butterfly") is a popular flower that is molded from polymer clay using molds. Molds are needed to create a realistic texture of the petals. if you don't have them, you can also work, but your petals will turn out smooth, without veins and irregularities.

What you need:

- Clay

- Latex gloves

- A board for work

- Rolling pin for rolling out

- Wire for artificial flowers

- Forms for cutting (for the core)

- Mold for petals

- Round tip stack

Useful Tips

Polymer clay - a relatively new and very popular material that is very malleable and allows you to make unique products. We have already talked about what interesting flowers are obtained from polymer clay, and today I would like to talk about some more very popular products: decorations.

DIY polymer clay decoration. Polymer clay sausages

Polymer clay sausages - these are blanks for future jewelry, including beads, from which thin plate-drawings. "Sausages" also called "Canes" or "Keynes" (eng. cane).

We offer you a master class on making a very beautiful black and white sausagesthat can be used to create stylish and very original jewelry.

What you need:

- White and black polymer clay

- Knife or metal plate with a blade

- Ruler

- Extruding press

Let's get to work:

Take two identical pieces of white and black clay and roll them into two squares 8 by 8 centimeters thickness about 0.5 centimeters.

Place one layer on top of the other and then split them into two equal parts. Repeat this procedure. You should get something like this striped "sandwich".

Shrink the resulting rectangle so that you get elongated round sausage.

Then twist the sausage with your palm to get spiral... Simply pressing the sausage with your palm against the table, roll it in one direction. Do this very carefully so as not to damage the drawing.

If you cut the resulting product in half, the inside should be here's a picture:

Put the sausage inside clay press and squeeze out a thin long sausage.

In the context, it will look like this:

Slice the sausage thinly for drawing up:

As a result, you can use the drawing for a variety of original decorations:

Polymer Clay Beads

Multicolored beadsthat can be used to make a variety of jewelry can be made from multi-colored polymer clay. If you do not know the peculiarities of their manufacture, it seems as if the drawing on these products was applied with the help of paint, but only multi-colored clay was used.

See for yourself.

What you need:

- Self-hardening polymer clay of 5 colors (in this case, white, gray, green, brown and yellow, but any others are possible)

- Knife or metal ruler with a blade

- Rolling pin and plank for clay

- Rubber gloves to avoid fingerprints

Let's get to work:

In order to get a picture in the form of a chamomile, first you need to "compose" it from clay of different colors. Take white clay and roll it into a sausage about 8 centimeters and diameter 4 centimeters.

Roll out a plate of gray clay about 2 millimeters.

Wrap the gray platinum around the white cylinder about halfway cut off excess knife or ruler.

Take green clay, roll it into a plate and also wrap the first piece on top of the gray layer... Trim the resulting sausage, remove excess on the sides.

Use a ruler to make cuts on the white part of the part as shown. First in the middle, then two more cuts on the sides, so that there is approximately equal distance.

Then insert the cut rectangular pieces of the gray plate into the cuts.

Squeeze the resulting sausage, but not too tightly so that all the parts stick together and between them air layer disappeared... With your hands you can shape the shape of the future petal. The photo shows a petal in the form truncated triangle... The whole sausage stretched out approximately 30 centimeters.

The length of the sausage depends on how many petals you wish to receive. For example, for this flower, the author of the master class is going to make 9 petals, so the length was 32 centimeters, i.e 3.5 centimeters one petal. Divide the sausage into 9 pieces.

Let's start making the middle of the chamomile. Take yellow clay and roll out a sausage length 5 centimeters and diameter 2 centimeters.

Roll out brown clay into a plate about 6 mm and completely wrap the yellow sausage with it.

You should get something like this chamomile:

Fill in the empty spaces between the petals pieces of green clay:

Wrap the chamomile completely rolled out green plate.

Squeeze chamomile sausage so as to release all the air between the parts.

Then you can start slicing. If you have some of the chamomile sausage, save it for future products, wrapped in filmwithout air access. Stick a ball of clay with daisies cut from sausage, then flatten.

- Hairpin-invisible

- Glue

Let's get to work

Roll from a piece of clay small balland then crush it with your fingers into a round plate.

Pinch the edges to get petal... Make as many petals as you like.

Connect all the petals together. If you have fired clay, bake the flower to harden the clay. Then you can stick it on the invisible one with using a piece of thick fabric.

With this simple technique, you can make a variety of hairpins:

By the way, hairpins can be made using ready-made flowers and base-accessories... You can use the master classes from the article Polymer Clay Flowers.

Here are some examples:

Expensive knick-knacks from the brand boutique are considered to be beautiful products themselves. They can be purchased directly on site or ordered online if desired. However, it is much more pleasant and reliable to make earrings, beads, bracelets, and other jewelry with your own hands. At the same time, everyone chooses the manufacturing method, as well as the materials for creativity themselves, according to their taste. For example, it can be polymer clay flowers. We offer a master class on their manufacture in this article.

How to make flower petals: tools

In order to learn how to make crafts from polymer clay, you need to start with the smallest and simplest. For example, you can first make flower petals, and later decide what to build from them later. To make petals, we need the following materials and tools:

  • 2-3 tubes with multi-colored soft clay (for example, polymer clay for modeling flowers - FIMO soft is suitable);
  • nail scissors;
  • one green leaf of a real plant (for example, a rose leaf will do);
  • standard wooden photo frame;
  • colored acrylic paint and a brush for it;
  • a jar of plain water;
  • toothpick and skewer;
  • thin surgical gloves;
  • superglue or flower glue with a gun.

Clay flower petals: the manufacturing process

At the first stage, take acrylic paint of any color (if you wish, you can mix several colors), dilute with water and apply to the photo frame with a brush. It is advisable to apply paint evenly and around the entire perimeter of the frame. A little later, we will tell you how to make roses from polymer clay.

Next, squeeze clay of the same color, for example, blue, from a tube onto a flat surface and use a special rolling pin to roll it into a thin pancake. Then take another clay, blue, make a small circle and place it on top of the previous one. And finally, take the third tube - with yellow clay, roll a small ball, flatten it into a flat circle and place on top of the blue one.

Next, you need to take a toothpick and stretch with it. color palette, starting from its yellow middle to the very edge. Then roll out the resulting uniform shape with a rolling pin and use scissors to cut out the circle, carefully trimming its corners. We will talk about how to make flowers from polymer clay a little later.

Take each of the resulting circles and lean against a leaf of a living plant. Press it down and smooth it gently around the edges. Detach from the sheet and give a slightly rounded shape. Finally, place this composition in the oven along with the frame. In doing so, pay attention to the instructions, which indicate the time during which the product must be in the oven until ready. Then glue the resulting petals to the frame. The craft is ready.

Polymer clay flowers: master class

If you have already learned how to make clay petals, it's time to start making flowers. To do this, you need to prepare several tubes of polymer clay, for example, choose blue, blue, gray, green. You also need to prepare a sharp knife for work, three molds (in the form of a circle, a four-leafed and six-leafed flower), a discount card and a rolling pin.

Next, we take the dark and light color of the clay and roll them out with a roller or rolling pin into thin pancakes. Then we roll up the light pancake into a tube, seal the edges, and on top of it we put another pancake made of darker clay and also wrap it in "sausage". So far, little is noticeable, but this is exactly what the future flowers from polymer clay are. It is easy to make them with your own hands, if you follow our advice.

We squeeze the resulting product to a flatter shape and cut the large figure into 5-7 smaller ones. We also roll "sausages" out of them and put them on top of each other so that we get a flower on the outside.

At the next stage, we take five more types of clay and roll them out with a rolling pin to obtain layers of minimum thickness. The following colors are suitable, laid out in this order: one green, one blue, two cyan and one dark color. Then we cut this "stack" of flat clay rectangles to the base with a map, making about 14-17 notches. We return to our first "sausage" with a flower inside and wrap it in a "stack". How to make flowers from transparent polymer clay, we will tell you later in this article.

Making the middle for the flowers

We take the newly formed "sausage" and gently squeeze it so that the product has a diameter of 5-7 mm. Then we take a knife and cut the "sausage" into small, if possible identical circles. After that, take each piece in your hand and round it a little so that it becomes slightly convex.

Making petals for flowers

To get flowers from polymer clay, take a round mold with your own hands, roll the clay into a layer and leave a trace of the mold on it. Extend the circle with a toothpick and form slightly wavy edges. Similar petals can be made using other patterns.

We put convex centers into the resulting flower, fix several layers, make small holes for future fastenings for jewelry and put the finished flowers in the oven. We bake. The flowers are ready. All that remains is to weave them into earrings, bracelets or beads.

How to make roses from polymer clay?

If you are just getting started with clay and are not sure which one to choose, polymer clay for beginners is right for you. It is easy to make flowers from it. The main thing is to follow the instructions and our advice. Also for beginners, special clay designed for ceramic floristry is suitable. It is easy to make petals from it, which, due to the special quality of the material, turn out to be more realistic and thin. So how do you make roses from polymer clay?

The following components will be useful to you for work:

  • clay (Fimo will do);
  • any hand cream;
  • small scissors;
  • toothpick.

Take the cream and lubricate your hands. Next, you should take clay. Roll a small circle out of it and pull it out into a rounded "drop". This will be the future center for a polymer clay rose. It is around her that the petals will be attached. Tear off the next piece and make a circle out of it. Then press it down with your fingers. Let it get flat. Roll it with your fingers to a state of not too thin "pancake", put our first "drop" in its middle and twist the petal with a cone.

Repeat the same operation (but without the middle) with the other petals. However, keep in mind that the first layer of petals should consist of two elements, the third of five, and the fourth of seven. Finished petals can not be glued to the end, leaving an edge for the opening effect. And also do not forget to cut off the excess clay that will form during the manufacture of parts. You will end up with a beautiful rose, ready to be kilned.

Overview of Transparent Polymer Clay

If you don't have an oven or don't want to get involved with baking finished products at all, you can always make use of alternative materials. In this case, we are talking about transparent types of clay. For example, you can make flowers from polymer clay. Today we offer you a master class on their manufacture.

So, let's say a few words about transparent clay. Unlike the one we described above, the transparent one does not need heat treatment. She is able to freeze herself. It is enough to put off the finished product for 24 hours. Moreover, this type of clay is not colorless. However, in addition to color, it contains a certain "porcelain bloom".

What is needed to make flowers from transparent clay?

A wonderful decoration is polymer clay flowers. A master class on making them will help you purchase beautiful beads, earrings, bracelets or rings for your personal collection. After all, the flowers you make can be used as a ready-made decoration for any jewelry. When starting to sculpt with clear clay, prepare the following tools:

  • small scissors;
  • sharp knife or blade;
  • yellow acrylic paint;
  • toothpicks;
  • fishing line;
  • clay white and pink;
  • floristic gun.

How to make flowers from clear clay?

Take a transparent spray of white and pink clay and knead each of the pieces. Place a white (top) and pink (bottom) blank side by side and hold them together. Then roll both clays into one "sausage". Make it a little thinner. And use a blade or knife to cut into circles. You have got two-color blanks that you need to pull out a little with your fingers, and twist their end with a cone. Then combine the three petals into one and add four more to them (below). Let's talk about how to make bouquets from polymer clay further.

Take a toothpick and use it to poke a hole in the middle of the flower. Then the resulting flower is strung on top of toothpicks. After that, cut an equal amount of line of identical length, singe the pieces on one side and paint the burnt part acrylic paint... 5-7 stamens are stuck into each flower. When all the stamens are in place, put a special decorative type metal cap on each of the flowers. Then ears for earrings will be attached to it. At the end of the work, the product must be left to dry for a day.

How to make a bouquet of flowers from polymer clay?

In addition to single flowers, you can make bouquets from polymer clay. To do this, after you get individual flowers, you need to make a stem, leaves and connect the elements together. For greater structural stability, it is recommended to additionally make a vase or flower pot out of clay. Then your flowers will stand and will not fall. And the craft itself will look more impressive. It can be used as a bright interior decoration or as a present to someone for a holiday.

In short, experiment with images, flowers and create unusual flower arrangements from polymer clay.

Polymer clay is an ideal material for creating original fakes. It is a plastic mass, similar to plasticine, which solidifies when heated to t +100 C ° and above.

The material was invented in Germany back in the 1930s. Clay was originally used to make dolls. But in the 1960s, she began to gain popularity, she began to be used in the manufacture of various sculptures and whole compositions.

Nowadays, souvenirs, jewelry, flowers, small wedding bouquets are created from polymer clay.

Anyone can learn to work with this material. To do this, it is enough to prepare all the necessary accessories and follow the step-by-step instructions.

In this article, we will consider making 7 colors from polymer clay, which you see in the photo.

Polymer clay tools

Before starting work, you need to prepare everything you need:

  1. Polymer clay.
  2. Work surface. It should be a flat, smooth surface. You can use glass, plastic, ceramics.
  3. Small knife. A utility or utility knife with spare blades will do.
  4. Rolling pin for working with acrylic. You need to choose one so that it is convenient to roll out the clay.
  5. A syringe with special attachments for making curly stripes and flower elements.
  6. Cutters. Shapes for cutting shapes.
  7. Stacks. Tools for working with plastic materials (clay, plasticine).
  8. Polymer coating varnish.
  9. Brushes of different sizes.
  10. Wooden toothpicks.
  11. Napkins.
  12. Fittings.

To avoid difficulties when working with clay, you need to follow simple guidelines:

  • You need to start work with clean hands, as clay absorbs various dirt well. It is better to collect hair or put on a scarf. Workplace also need to be kept clean.
  • Before creating a product, the material must be kneaded well.
  • To avoid the adhesion of debris, talc is applied to the clay.
  • Clay packaging must be kept closed. To extend the life of the material, you can put a damp cloth in the package.
  • It is important to accurately calculate the required amount of clay, since material that has already been used is not stored for long.
  • If the clay dries up, stir it with a small amount of regular hand cream.

Ready-made polymer clay fakes are very fragile, so you need to handle them carefully.

How to make polymer clay with your own hands

If you cannot buy ready-made polymer clay in a store, you can make it yourself at home, following a simple recipe.

Required Ingredients:

  1. Flour - 1 tsp
  2. Baby cosmetic oil.
  3. PVA glue - 1 tsp
  4. Cornstarch - 1 tsp

To prepare a plastic material, flour must be combined with starch, add glue. Stir the resulting mass until it looks like clay. After that, drip five drops of oil so that the mass does not stick to your hands.

The clay is painted with acrylic paint. After dropping a few drops on a piece of clay, knead it in your hands until a uniform color is obtained.

Making flowers

rose flower

To make beautiful flower, you need clay of three colors: white, pink and light pink. A light pink shade is obtained by mixing white clay and rich pink colors.

The creation of a rose can be divided into several stages:

  • 1. A small pea rolls down from the pink material, from which a thin petal is formed. Petals of three colors are harvested in the same way.
  • 2. The core of a flower is created by rolling a rose petal into a tube.
  • 3. The next petals of soft pink are added in a circle.
  • 4. For a natural look, the edges of the petals can be slightly bent, made slightly wavy.
  • 5. At the bottom, add four white petals so that they overlap each other.
  • 6. Excess material that remains on the back side is cut off with a knife or blade.
  • 7. Leaves are formed from green material of different shades. To make the veins, use a regular sewing needle or toothpicks.
  • 8. The product is baked in the oven.

Orchid

To create a flower, you will need white, yellow and pink material.

To form an orchid you need:

  • 1. Make three back petals. To do this, you need to roll three balls of white clay, then make droplets out of them. Roll out the resulting blanks and form thin petals.
  • 2. The texture of the petals is given with the help of special molds. To prevent the material from sticking to the molds, they are slightly oiled.
  • 3. While the finished petals are drying, you need to make the side ones. To do this, roll up two white balls and roll out the petals from them. With the help of molds, an impression is made, which gives the workpiece a natural look.
  • 4. To make the petals slightly rounded, dry them by laying them on a thick round object (marker, thin rocker).
  • 5. The three back petals must be fastened so that the angle between them is 45-60 °.
  • 6. On top of the lower petals, two side ones are attached.
  • 7. The main petal is made of pink clay. The edge is made a little wavy.
  • 8. A core droplet is made of yellow material, which is attached to a pink petal - the "lip" of the orchid.
  • 9. The core is wrapped at the base of the petal. The petal is dried on a round object.
  • 10. When all the parts are ready, the orchid is assembled and stitched.

Pion

The peony is made of white and pink material; green clay is used for the leaves.

To create a beautiful peony you need:

  • 1. Put the clay of white and pink colors into one layer. Form a rocking chair out of it, on the cut of which there will be a smooth transition from white to pink.
  • 2. Pinch the pink side of the resulting sausage a little. Cutting it into thin slices, they should be in the form of a drop.
  • 3. To form a petal, place the workpiece on the palm and use a special tool with a ball at the end (stack) to stretch the edges and make a depression in the center of the petal. To create a natural flower, you need petals of different sizes.
  • 4. Make an oblong drop of clay, put it on a knitting needle or toothpick. Attach petals around it, starting with the smallest ones. You need to try to ensure that each row of petals does not come into contact with the previous one.
  • 5. Roll out the green clay. Form leaves from it. This can be done with a leaf-shaped boat or a felling. The texture of the leaves can be given with a veiner.
  • 6. Carefully combine the peony with the leaves.
  • 7. Use liquid plastic to create a dew effect on the flower.
  • 8. Bake the product in the oven.

Lilac branch

Making a lilac branch yourself is not difficult. But in comparison with other colors, the manufacturing process will take longer.

To create lilacs, you need thin wire, purple polymer clay of several tones, as well as yellow and green clay.

So that the work does not cause difficulties, you can follow the instructions:

  • 1. Cut the wire into pieces about 5 cm long. Make a loop on one side of each piece using round-nose pliers.
  • 2. Clay of two shades is used to create buds.
  • 3. A small droplet should be formed from the purple material. Then cut it into four sides with a razor blade or knife.
  • 4. Each notched part must be shaped into a petal with a toothpick or stack.
  • 5. The finished flower is pierced through with a wire with a loop. The loop should fit snugly and half hidden in the middle of the flower.
  • 6. To make a bud, prepare small droplets. Blossom blanks should be more elongated than flowers. They are cut into four parts, but the petals are not formed.
  • 7. The bud is also pierced with wire. To do this, they open it, and then close it again.
  • 8. Roll a small ball of yellow material. It is inserted into a recess in the middle of the flower. This will be the core. On its surface, right in the center, you need to push the notches with a knife.
  • 9. The leaves are made of green polymer clay by cutting. They can be given a characteristic structure with the help of a weiner. A wire must be attached at the base of each leaf.
  • 10. Finished flowers and leaves are baked in the oven.
  • 11. When the flowers and buds are ready, the wire at their base is wrapped with a green floral ribbon.
  • 12. In order to collect individual flowers in inflorescences, they are connected in several pieces and wrapped with floral tape.
  • 13. Each inflorescence should contain 4-5 buds, 6-7 full flowers. A full bunch usually contains 5-6 such inflorescences. Leaves are added to the finished bunch. All elements are attached with floral tape.

Lily

The creation of a lily is quite painstaking work, on average it will take 7-8 hours.

To make a flower, material of chocolate, coffee, brown, yellow and green colors is used. The work is divided into stages:

  • 1. Place coffee, yellow, brown and coffee-colored clay in one layer. So that the colors touch diagonally. Using a plastic machine, make a tape, the color of which will smoothly transition from one to another.
  • 2. Fold the tape like an accordion. On top of each layer, lay 2-3 thin flat dark brown colors. Starting from the transition from yellow to brown, thin stripes are not laid.
  • 3. The resulting rectangle is well compacted and drawn. Then cut into two parts.
  • 4. Connect both halves so that the brown streaks are inside.
  • 5. Form a cane, the tip of which must be pinned to make it thinner. Then petals are cut from it.
  • 6. Each petal is formed separately. It is thinned, given the shape of a boat, and made a little wavy along the edge.
  • 7. To collect a flower, you need six petals.
  • 8. The inner row consists of small petals overlapped one on top of the other (wide part).
  • 9. The outer row consists of larger petals. They are laid under the first row.
  • 10. Leaves are cut of any shape from rolled green clay. They can be textured with a viner or by rolling them between real living leaves.
  • 11. The leaves are attached to the lily. The whole product is baked in the oven.
  • 12. In the middle of the finished flower, pass five stamens made of beads or balls on a thin wire.

Chamomile

To make chamomile, you need white, yellow and green polymer clay.

It's easy to create a beautiful daisy:

  • 1. A cane should be formed from a white material, about 1 cm thick. In order for it to have a drop-shaped shape on the cut, it needs to be slightly flattened on one side.
  • 2. Cut the resulting cane into slices about 3 mm thick.
  • 3.Using a toothpick, give each petal a ribbed texture, form shallow grooves.
  • 4. From 7-8 large petals, fold a white flower.
  • 5. Blind the middle with a special stack with a ball, connecting the petals. Make a small indentation in it.
  • 6. Touch up the center of the flower with yellow paint, slightly capturing the petals.
  • 7. The second tier is formed from the top of the smaller petals.
  • 8. A recess is made in the center of the flower. The middle and petals are slightly tinted with yellow pastel.
  • 9. From yellow clay you need to mold the middle of the chamomile. To do this, roll a small ball. With the help of a needle, they give it the desired look.
  • 10. Having laid the core in the center of the flower, again give it a loose appearance with a sharp object.
  • 11. Leaves are molded from green clay. The veins are pushed through with a weiner or a toothpick.
  • 12. Having folded chamomile and leaves together, they are sent for roasting.

Poppy

To create a poppy, you need white, red, black and green polymer clay.

It is made as follows:

  • 1. Material of white and red colors is rolled out, identical rectangles are cut out. Then add them in order: 2 white, 2 red, 3 white.
  • 2. The blunt side of the knife is pressed through the stacked plates. Then they are compacted. Turn over and push again in the opposite direction. Then they are compacted again.
  • 3. The obtained cane is cut into two parts, connected with the sides and compacted again. They give it such a shape so that it looks like a drop on the cut.
  • 4. The finished cane is cut into blank plates.
  • 5. Putting the petal on the mold, use your fingers to give it the shape and texture of a poppy petal.
  • 6. Form the bottom row of five large petals. Small indentations are made in the center and at the junctions of the petals.
  • 7. The second row of petals is formed from smaller blanks.
  • 8. Connect both rows in the center, making a depression. The edges of the petals are slightly raised, bent.
  • 9. The bud is made from a red or white droplet. It is put on a thin wire and wrapped with 5-6 boat-shaped petals.
  • 10. To create the center of the flower, roll a small drop of black material. Then it is wrapped twice with a pre-prepared strip of black clay, to which floristic stamens are attached. The finished center is attached to the flower.
  • 11. The leaves are made of green polymer clay.
  • 12. When the entire composition is assembled, it is sent for firing.
