How to make money on tourism. Overview of partner programs in tourism

Travel bloggers describing their travels often ask themselves: how can you make money on a website or blog about tourism? This topic is not the most profitable in the network, however, there are many opportunities for earning, you just need to know how to use them.

I have already written about how to create a travel website and how to develop it in. In this post, I will share my experience of earning money on a travel site.

At the end of the article, I laid out specific figures for income from each type of advertising on the blog.

With Google, everything is easier - it accepts any sites. So I, without thinking twice, registered my site in the system, and installed the codes of two banners. Do not worry if after installing the code, the banners do not appear immediately. Most likely, Google is checking your site at this time. As soon as the resource is moderated, you will see ads on your pages.

I have installed two banners: above and below. I'm thinking about replacing the small bottom one with some other format - there are practically no clicks on it.

2. Affiliate programs for travel sites... Here the beginner has a place to turn around. After all, if you correctly present your travel affiliate program and optimize the article for a low-frequency request, you can get good dividends from the sale.

The most, in my opinion, the main affiliate program for travel sites is Travel Payots. Today this affiliate program combines several affiliate programs at once, which you can use by registering with Travel Payots once.

4. Banner advertising... By far the easiest way to deliver banner advertising on the site - Rotaban service. The system accepts sites with attendance of at least 100 people.
Experienced webmasters write that when traffic falls, the exchange does not exclude the site from the system, but simply stops showing your banner to employers.

Should you place this banner with low traffic? Judge for yourself. With a visit of 100-150 people, you can set a banner price of 100 rubles / month - this is a normal cost for such parameters. You can display two banners at the same time - that is, the picture will change. This is 200 rubles / month. Loading a page of the site when installing the code starts to slow down. Think about it - is it worth it?

These, of course, are not the only ways to make money on a travel site. If someone has ideas for making money on a travel site for beginners - share in the comments.

If you are a resident of a resort town visited by tourists (and it doesn't matter whether this town will be near the sea or in the mountains, or maybe a health resort or historical one, the most important thing is that tourists visit it), then you have a great opportunity.

Or in different ways, let's look at a few of them:

1. It is possible to raise funds by implementing souvenirs, on which the coat of arms or the symbols of your city will be applied. These souvenirs can be:

- T-shirts, T-shirts;

- cups, mugs;

- hats, caps;

- towels;

- slippers, etc.

You will need to make souvenirs on your own, if you buy them directly from the manufacturer, the income will decrease significantly, although it will also be positive.

This business can be done in any tourist city, regardless of whether it enjoys a seasonal or constant influx.

Tip - try to make original souvenirs that are not similar to those sold by your competitors. It is better to skip one season and get creative with this idea than go to the counter with the same souvenirs.

2. Pretty profitable business - if you have a second apartment or house (you can even rent it out in your own house / apartment if the area allows), but not for long-term, but daily. Daily rentals have at least 2 times more profit than long-term rentals.

People with real estate on the coast thus live, even usually without having their own work or business. This cash flow is enough for them, even due to the fact that this business is seasonal.

3. If your city is the sea, the sun, the beach. Then you can arrange the rental of sun loungers, umbrellas, tables, chairs, slippers, hats. Of course you tell me now, what are you? Everything has been occupied for a long time! Yes I agree. But choose not the central beaches, but let's say the beaches closer to the outskirts, where fewer people or wild beaches, maybe even nudist.

If you set yourself a goal, then you can try to make your own beach, it will certainly not be easy, but if you succeed, then the game will definitely be worth the candle.

You can also install beach storage cells for tourists' belongings - after all, vacationers came to swim in the sea, and not to guard things.

Another way to make money on the beach is to distribute soft drinks, ice cream, ready-made dinners, seafood delicacies (shrimp, mussels, rapana, etc.) to vacationers. In this case, no one will tell you anything, unless of course you came to a private beach. I personally talked with such people, but the work is very laborious, getting up quite early and on my feet all day. Therefore, it is better to sacrifice your health and hire a student, for example.

4. You can also take tourists around the city, let's say, an individual tour. But this is in the event that you have your own car and you know the history of the city (although it can be studied literally in 1 month).

Arrange trips for visitors to memorable places, show your city from the side of residents, take them to the best places (if they wish, even to a restaurant or nightclubs, you can even to a neighboring city).

If they are foreign tourists, hire an interpreter.

Or let's say if you know foreign languages, you can act as a translator. Look for the application of your knowledge and you will definitely find the niche where it will be required.

Most best earnings - this is when you do what you are interested in. Such an income for me was the search for tours and air tickets for all my friends and even acquaintances.

I myself have always loved to travel, and finding a suitable hotel or sightseeing tour gave me pleasure. It was a very pleasant prelude to relaxation. And it so happened that soon I got to know all the leading tour operators in almost all popular destinations.

How I started "working for myself."

The idea of \u200b\u200borganizing a vacation for other people came about by accident. My close friends needed to fly to Barcelona urgently, but the cost of tickets for regular flights was simply prohibitive, and I helped them find a charter flight.

Tickets for a charter flight were found at one major operator in Spain. However, the company did not work with individuals, only with travel agencies. The problem was solved easily: I just looked at the agency closest to my home (a very small company) and agreed that they send an application for a certain commission from each ticket. As a result, it was still cheaper than buying a regular ticket.

During the negotiations, I was offered to send all my friends to this agency and receive a certain percentage of the commission.

Why is it profitable for agencies?

In fact, I select a tour, tell people about all the features of the chosen hotel, about the excursion program and others. important points, and the agency just needs to make a reservation with the tour operator.
As a rule, tour operators pay agencies from 10 to 15% of the cost of each tour. I agreed that I would receive 5% of this amount. Half of them, that is 2.5-3%, I give a discount to "my" tourists. So it is more interesting for them to work with me. The cheapest tour to the most popular beach destinations (Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel) for a family of three costs about 80 thousand, that is, I get from 2000 to 2500 thousand at least from each sold tour.

How to look for clients.

At first, these were my acquaintances, then they began to recommend me to their relatives and friends. In the "bad months" - late January - early March, I have about 4-5 tours, and my record last August was 18 tours sold per month.

I take e-mail from all my clients and be sure to notify about all the promotions and discounts that tour operators carry out. Even if they themselves do not need the information at the moment, there will certainly be someone from colleagues or acquaintances who will be interested in it.

My work takes no more than 2-3 hours a day (at the height of the tourist season), and the income is quite pleasant.

The most important thing is to constantly look for information about various special offers. To do this, I subscribed to the mailing list of all major tour operators and constantly look through information about last minute tours on specialized travel sites and forums.

And the most important thing is that such work gives me great pleasure!

Some companies reduce their activity in the summer: customers and employees leave, and the off season begins. But there are businesses that are profitable to launch in these three months. "Secret" found out what business is better to invest in this summer, so that it immediately paid off.

Catering at events

Concerts, food markets, fairs and other events are held in large cities almost every weekend in the summer. “If you act as a small tent at city events, the initial investment will be about 200,000 rubles - to rent a workshop with equipment, buy a couple of grills, pay an entrance fee,” says Alexey Gisak, founder of the Wokker noodle chain. According to him, on good event, for example, a concert with a famous headliner, you can earn up to 100,000 rubles per day. On average, the profitability of a tent with food is 15–20%, but with good organization it can reach 40–50%. If you participate in events once a week, over the summer, the revenue can be about 1 million rubles.

A problem may arise with the payment for the site: according to Gisak, for a beginner tent it is impossible to pay more than 30,000 - 40,000 rubles per day, and for the organizers of particularly high-profile events, prices sometimes reach 100,000 rubles. You also need to think about the concept - the market at such events is oversaturated, especially at food markets.

“Everything else is more essential capital investment... It is very expensive to enter the parks, and for the season, beginner concepts do not fight back. Trading on the beaches is difficult. Mobile trade is not legalized at all, ”Aleksey Gisak describes the situation in the food market.

Resale of fruits and vegetables

Peaches, apricots, strawberries are a sure way to make money in the summer. Lev Volozh, the founder of the MoscowFresh food delivery service, believes that the main way to make a profit is the import of seasonal products. “It's not difficult if everything is done correctly, and the investment return horizon is very short: I brought it in, sold it and that's it, I made a profit in a week,” says Volozh. According to him, due to the sanctions, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan became the main suppliers of quality fruits, in which it is now the season. Moreover, Armenia is included in Customs Union, therefore, no difficulties and additional costs should arise when transporting fruit.

There are two ways to deliver food: by truck and by plane. The first option is more profitable, but more dangerous, since the volume of imports is larger and there is a risk of not selling a part. Usually trucks carry 20 tons, if you take the average price of 100 rubles per kilogram, you will need to invest 2 million rubles plus transportation. The margin on the sale, according to Volozh, is about 300%. It turns out more expensive by plane, but you can bring fewer products (even 100 kg) and they will be fresher - which means there will be more time to sell them.

Open a fruit stand in the city, says Volozh, not like that a good idea - the business will pay off at best, but will not bring much profit.

Business on tourists

This year, Russians will reorient themselves to domestic tourism, therefore, for the opportunity to earn extra money on travelers, you should go to the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea. “This year there will be a fairly large flow of tourists, but the existing infrastructure will not be enough to meet all the needs of vacationers, not to mention customer focus. If you choose the right niche, summer season you can earn good money, "- considers cEO online tour sales service Level.Travel Dmitry Malyutin. A promising option for him seems to be catering at resorts, the main thing is to include dishes that will be of interest to children.

“You can also turn to the entertainment segment. With a large flow, nothing supernatural is needed: good customer service and a service that is new to vacationers will be in demand, ”says Malyutin. As an example, he cites the rental of gyro scooters - if you buy 10 pieces for about 200,000 rubles, set the rental price at 150 rubles for 10 minutes and 300 rubles for half an hour, for a day with a 50% load, the proceeds from one hoverboard will be 2,400 rubles. During the season, you can earn about 1 million rubles, and if you subtract all the costs of renting a place, salaries and taxes, about half a million will remain on your hands.

Another option is to make money on foreign tourists. “As a rule, in summer there are a lot of tourists in Russia from Kazakhstan, Central Asia, China and Japan. You can rent several apartments and rent them out on Airbnb, ”suggests Roman Vias, marketing director of the cleaning service Qlean. For the same tourists, according to him, you can organize walking tours - you just need to make a simple landing page on english language and hire a guide.

At the same time, it is better not to aim at hostels for visitors. As the Friends of St. Petersburg network told Sekret, a really good hostel that meets all standards is difficult to recoup in three months. Another obstacle is an uncertain future, recently in the State Duma in the first reading a bill was approved that prohibits the placement of hostels in residential buildings. They won't have time to pass the law over the summer, but difficulties may arise with neighbors and landlords.

Exhibitions

“Last summer we had a case with one fast-paying business. It was an exhibition of 3D illusions: you shoot 200-300 meters in a good shopping center, hang up special banners there, against which people are photographed, and the effect of presence is created - they seem to be jumping with a parachute or riding a surf, ”says the founder of the Like holding Ayaz Shabutdinov. They had been preparing for the project for several months, and in the summer they opened an exhibition in five cities, offering to visit it for 150-300 rubles. With investments of 400,000 - 500,000 rubles, the exhibition in some cities brought in 1-1.5 million rubles in income in three to four months. Of these, from half a million to 1 million rubles - net profit... In some cities, according to Shabutdinov, in the first two days of operation, the business paid off monthly expenses.

“Would I advise you to open up with this business now? The wave has passed, in almost all cities such exhibitions have worked. But the business format itself is interesting: holding an exhibition for a short time, profit from tickets sold, and the exposition is something fun for children, ”says Shabutdinov. According to him, the main thing in such a business is to choose cities in which such an exhibition has not yet been held, and to carefully engage in marketing. The parameters are also very important shopping center... Shabutdinov says that there are about 40 criteria, including the presence of parking areas, a food court, the ability to advertise on a shopping center radio, the presence of tenants with a similar target audience.

Seasonal goods and services

“We need high-margin products - we find them at Chinese flea markets, order a batch, make a beautiful thematic landing page, advertisements ... If you make a markup of 500-1000%, then the investment will pay off in one or two months with the right product,” says the founder of the PayQR service Vyacheslav Semenchuk ... According to him, now all that is needed for one season can be attributed to such goods: portable air conditioners, air mattresses, barbecues (the latter can be rented out and resumed business next summer). “You can also organize Uber to take care of the lawn in the country,” says Roman Vias of Qlean. According to him, just for such seasonal businesses it is easy to attract students to work in the summer.

Do you love to travel, write interesting articles and want to share your knowledge with others?
Fine! You can still make money on this. Today we will reveal the secrets of monetizing a travel site or blog.

How it works?

Perhaps most people have very vague ideas about how you can
make money with the help of an information site or a blog, and even for a tourist
subject. In fact, everything is quite simple and transparent, you only need a little
go deeper into the topic. Let's look at income options with an example.

How does the site make money?

The travel portal brought the client to the partner site and will receive its income from the transaction. In this
case, monetization is carried out through the CPA system. This means that the site's revenue comes from specific consumers who made a purchase: booked
airline tickets, hotel or used the services of an insurance company, etc. The fact that
the buyer came exactly through your site is recorded with a special marker, and you
get your percentage of the partner's profit (air carrier, hotel booking service, etc.).

We create our own business

Before creating a website or blog, you should start by studying the topic, while answering
next questions:

What to write about?

First of all, that you are good at and enjoyable, because you are not
want to turn your work into a daily routine? Another guideline is the benefit to the reader.
You should not write about everything in the world, so you will not be able to clearly define your target audience, which
ready to pay. Choose a topic that is relevant and close to you. Think about what a potential traveler might be interested in:

  • How to buy tickets profitably?
  • Where to stay?
  • What restaurant does the food taste good in?
  • How much do the excursions cost? etc.

Start the title with the words "How ...", "Where ..." and the user will understand that the article has a solution to his question.

Writing style?

Write as for yourself! After all, when you go to the site, you expect to receive the desired
information in the most convenient and beautiful form. Texts should be "tasty"
headlines are intriguing and capacious. For example, for an affiliate site, the following option is suitable:
"Flight Moscow-Hurghada from $ 100", and for the blog: "Where to dine in Rome for 20 euros."
Remember the pictures, they also add attractiveness, but take care that
so that they increase when clicked. Do everything for the convenience of the user. If you write about
interesting places, for example: Montmartre (Paris), do not be lazy to make a detailed map.

Who is your the target audience?

In order for the site to generate income, users must be ready to commit
purchase. That is why portals about landmarks and history bring extremely
there is little income, because the target audience comes there for another.

Expression form?

There can be several forms of expression - a blog, a portal or an affiliate site. Most
popular destinations in the travel segment, this is a portal about profitable air travel,
promotional offers from hotels, last minute tours. Such information with pleasure
issue search engines... Relevant and useful information about the chosen direction,
for example, what are the prices in supermarkets, how much money to take for a week-and so on.

  • A travel blog is a great option if you are a charismatic person and
users are interested in your experience. You can find a loyal
audience, write in a convenient form and weave product placement (hidden advertising)
inside articles. However, the target audience that comes to your site is not
set to buy. And the traffic from search engines is minimal, the conversion is also
low. But we want the income to be regular and tangible! Then we look at the next option. Fixed monetization tools: product placement
  • Travel site, portal - here the focus of your attention can be directed to
one or more directions. Let's say you can write about a vacation in Europe or
about life in America. The scope of topics is quite large: transport, food,
attractions, entertainment, etc. If SEO is optimized, then you can
drive traffic from search engines, but be prepared for a constant
you will have practically no audience, and user activity is low. Monetization tools: affiliate programs, contextual advertising.

Which platform to choose?

What's the starting budget?

Remember that cash injections are required to start, focus on the initial
budget - from $ 100 if you work independently. First of all you need to pay
domain. Here, of course, it is not recommended to save money, because the free option will not bring
traffic, which means the efficiency will be quite low.

What are the top priorities?

Find an intermediary for tracking, for example Admitad, which will allow you to receive income from partner resources. But first, fill the site with quality content, not bad
start - from 40 articles. Remember links. If the article links directly to the affiliate site, then it will bring you income. Get busy with increasing traffic. On information portals few permanent
users, but you can create a mailing list. Register for
those wishing to leave comments and get the contact details of your target audience.

Features of the types of monetization.

Contextual advertising. A great way to get good income in a short time. But not
it is recommended to set it if you have less than 2000 views per day, in this case it will provoke slow traffic growth. Partnership programs. You can weave them into the text while writing articles, but don't count on quick incomeas it often coincides with the tourist seasons.

Another point is deferred income. Users often purchase tours or
flights several months in advance and statistics from partners are not the fastest.
Mobile version. Now mobile traffic is constantly growing. Actually, this is a transition to
site made with a smartphone. Such offers can bring tangible
profit. However, desktop and mobile traffic is best separated.
As you can see, everyone can start making money on travel content. What is needed for this? Great desire, time, small start-up capital and the right choice of an affiliate network.
