Broadband Internet connection. Broadband Internet access throughout Russia from Wifire. Development of regulatory legal acts stimulating the attraction of investments to new markets

Nowadays, broadband internet is a general term used to refer to various high-speed connection types.

The term broadband refers to the bandwidth of your internet connection. Broadband literally means a wide range of frequencies used to transmit and receive data. Previously, Internet access was very slow due to the use of a dial-up connection. In addition to being slow, the dial-up connection also completely occupies the voice phone line. All these factors led to the fact that Dial-up was almost completely replaced by various broadband types of connections.

In such a situation, everyone will win, win. This incentive can be based on the example of operators receiving a rebate. In any case, we all have access to the Internet, and this is probably a good idea... An increase in the number of customers means an increase in income.

Real speeds are several times less. This is why the dialogue between us and business is so important, he says. To keep pace with the times, the ministry encourages not only the expansion of the existing network, but also the use of alternative routes: wireless and satellite Internet. Everything to fulfill the commitments listed in the European Digital Agenda next year.

The term bandwidth, in the case of computer networks and Internet connections, is usually used to refer to the speed of data transfer. The data transfer rate is usually measured in bits per second (bit). In a broadband connection, compared to a dial-up connection, the data transfer rate is very high. Exists different kinds broadband connections of varying cost, speed and availability.

The goal is to support the National Broadband Plan, which is currently undergoing public consultation and should be adopted by the government at the beginning next year... We are the first in Europe, but this also means that this is an incredible task, explains Malgorzata Olszewska.

We provide services in the sale of broadband Internet access in the Paichnen area. This ensures that our clients are connected to the world using the latest technology, which is very popular among the inhabitants of Pažna and the surrounding area due to fast transfers, very attractive prices and the highest quality of services.

ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)

ADSL is the most commonly used broadband connection. It is widely used for home users and commercial purposes. ADSL is a digital line that can be used to access the Internet without having to occupy the entire telephone line. ADSL operates at 512 kbps or higher. In the case of ADSL, the incoming channel is faster than the outgoing one, which is why the term “asymmetric” was coined.

What sets us apart from the competition is our ongoing commitment to providing our customers with the highest quality service. To this end, we invest in experienced staff and proprietary software development solutions such as network infrastructure management solutions. Because already at the design stage, these systems were created for our company and exactly match the needs of our customers. This allows us not only to provide an efficient and fast service, but also to instantly fix any issues our subscribers encounter.

SDSL (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line)

SDSL is similar to ADSL and differs from it only in one aspect, in the ratio of the speed indicators of the incoming and outgoing line. SDSL is characterized by the same download and upload speed. Home users generally don't need this. However, some organizations require a channel with a high upstream bandwidth. This type of connection is more expensive than regular ADSL, but in the case of commercial use, the costs are worth it.

The constant provision of 24-hour Internet access is ensured by an automated monitoring system that informs the Administrator about any malfunctions of our equipment. This allows us to minimize the response time of our service teams and fix the problem immediately.

The satisfaction of subscribers using our services is always our top priority. Therefore, we systematically, on average 2 times a year, we increase the bandwidth of our links. We also invest in state-of-the-art data transmission technology - everything to provide you with the highest quality.

Broadband wireless

A wireless Internet connection is commonplace today. Laptops, PDAs and all of these devices need a wireless connection. The download speeds provided by various types of wireless broadband Internet access are typically between 128 Kbps and 2 Mbps.

Technical support for the network infrastructure is provided by several service teams that ensure the continuity of service, both in terms of transmitters and relays, as well as devices installed at our customers' service every day. In addition to correct work All services are supported by an automated monitoring system that constantly monitors the operational status of several hundred devices belonging to the network infrastructure.

You may be familiar with the Terms of Service for Internet Access. Broadband access the Internet gives you more options to surf the web and check your email. It is also convenient to use a number of digital services: Internet telephony, digital television, e-government and e-education. For businesses, fast Internet means the ability to start and grow a business and thus create new jobs.

Cable broadband internet

The Internet can be accessed through a cable TV line. Cable TV is currently very popular and is almost in all more or less large cities... Cable broadband internet typically offers speeds between 2 Mbps and 8 Mbps. By popularity cable internet competes successfully with ADSL.

By creating a broadband network, we create the best conditions for the economic and social development of our region, ”says Jacek Protas, Marshal of Warmia and Mazury Province. Currently, access to high-speed Internet in the region is mostly found in the larger cities. In other areas, mainly in countryside, it is limited in technical and financial reasons... As a result, more than half of the population has no chance of using the Internet.

Meanwhile, we live in a world without the Internet. It has become an element of the life of every Pole. His window to the world, communication with loved ones, a source of knowledge and entertainment, cheaper purchases, and often income as a tool for work or business. We know what advantages our country and its inhabitants have been developing a network of highways for several years. This not only improves the comfort of travel, but, above all, gives a boost to the economy - they create new business ventures and jobs.

Satellite Internet

All forms of broadband connections described above have local restrictions, that is, they can be used in a very limited area. Satellite communication is the solution to this problem. Satellite Internet can be either one-way or two-way. In the satellite Internet, depending on the tariff and the type of connection, the speed is from 256 Kbps to 2 Mbps. This type of broadband internet provides a slower speed than other types of broadband connections. In addition, the weather has a significant impact on the quality of the received signal.

Broadband is an internet network that allows large amounts of data to be transported quickly and therefore modern and convenient way to Europe. and peace. The Eastern Poland Broadband Project employs almost 10,500 people in five voivodeships. km of modern telecommunications infrastructure, that is, such a high-speed expressway on the Internet. The total value of investments for several years is almost 1.5 billion PLN, 85% of which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the Development Program of the Eastern Poland Operational Program.

Fiber optic internet

Fiber optic technology is a relatively new technology that converts electrical signals into light signals. The signal is then transmitted over a fiber optic cable.

For building optical networks access devices are special devices, for example, such as stm 4 multiplexers, which can operate over 2 single-mode optical fibers. Supports remote network management and upgrades.

The creation of a broadband network means that you can connect almost any home, school, office or business to this online network. This will be provided by companies providing Internet access services for residents who will build local networks.

But not the most important here is the ability to connect to the Internet. The most important is its "broadband". Broadband Internet access is a service that connects to the network using high-speed, high-speed communication channels. This allows not only browsing the web and checking e-mail, but also conveniently using a number of additional services: Internet telephony, digital television, video on demand, monitoring.

Fast Internet also makes it possible to realize practically unlimited use of public electronic servicesincluding e-government, e-education and healthcare services. It also provides efficient data exchange between administrative offices, educational institutions, doctors, business entities.

In the near future, broadband will mean not only fast and cheap Internet, but above all the possibility of access - without leaving home - for all types of services - from administration, information, education to medical services... For entrepreneurs, it will be an opportunity for unlimited network bandwidth, doing business all over the world, even for small businesses. in small towns. According to the municipality of self-government, the slogan of the development of the region, it will be possible to combine “ healthy image life ”with“ net profit ”.

With the development of IT technologies, access to the Internet has become increasingly in demand, thus a need arose for new methods of connection, which became broadband Internet access. With the advent of high-speed internet, users have more options with minimal costs.

What is broadband internet access?

Many network users, of course, needed the need for high-speed and high-quality communication, and best of all, unlimited. Every avid Internet visitor dreams of unlimited traffic and the ability to get the information they need for a small fee.

For local governments, it is not only about replacing “best documents” with electronic patient care. This is primarily money for the development of local communities, even from the larger tax revenues associated with economic development and new jobs. It is also possible to raise funds from several other large EU projects that are related to high speed Internet access.

When implementing this project, good cooperation with municipal and regional authorities is of great importance to us. For residents and the entire community, access to high-speed Internet is no less important than new roads, sewers or medical institutions- said Marshal Jacek Protas.

Broadband access will help meet all the needs of Internet users, it is designed to organize access to the network and is actively used by service providers, IP-telephony operators, mobile communications and other organizations.

Broadband Internet access implies the ability not only to access the network at high speed, but also to transfer data from a computer. This is a fundamental difference from the Internet using a modem. The latter works on the principle of a subscriber line and is limited to 56 kbps transmission. Broadband access is 40 times more efficient - up to 2 Mbps.

The analysis presents the latest data on the broadband market, the share of operators in this market and Internet access technologies in Poland. The development of an information society and a knowledge-based economy is seen as a key factor in increasing the competitiveness of each country's economy. Development information society is crucial for eliminating differences in the level of socio-economic development between individual countries of the European Union, as well as between regions of these countries.

Also in Poland, the development of infrastructure and broadband Internet services is in the focus of government attention as an integral element of building an information society and a knowledge-based economy, as well as a factor contributing to economic development and improving the quality of life of the population. The main task of government agencies, including the Office of Electronic Communications, is to support any initiative that can contribute to the saturation of the broadband Internet market in Poland.

Benefits of broadband

Until recently, dial-up access using a modem and a telephone line was the main one. But modem access is already outdated, because it blocks the telephone line, and this is not always convenient. High speed internet it is devoid of this drawback, since it does not affect the line.

The main advantage of broadband access, in addition to high-speed data transmission, is a stable connection to the network and the possibility of "two-way communication", which allows receiving and sending data at high speed in both directions.

With regard to the development of broadband infrastructure, Poland, and especially the Voivodeship of Eastern Poland, is one of the last places in Europe. A. recorded a decline in the market share of broadband access by more than 5 percentage points, operators mobile communication got 1.5 percentage points. The following analysis presents the latest data on the broadband market, the operator's market share and Internet access technologies in Poland. The analysis also looks at the shares of selected Internet access technologies.

This summary covers all telecom operators providing broadband Internet access in specific technologies. The information presented is divided into 3 thematic blocks. Broadband market in Poland: fixed broadband, wireless broadband provided by mobile operators. The full text of the analysis is available in the document attached at the bottom of this page.

Providers can also offer DSL as broadband access using digital telephone communication, this method, although it allows you to improve the speed of the Internet, however, it is based on the use of the same telephone lines with copper wires... Its advantage lies only in the parallel operation of telephone communication and the Internet.

Apart from the continuing trend of penetration into the broadband market, the broadband market is also another trend. All of these organizations are offering more and more services, including related services - offering, for example, voice or television services.

However, due to increased consumer interest in new services and the linking of services by their providers to packages that lower the cost of living, the saturation level of the broadband market in Poland is constantly growing. Below are the main indicators of Internet penetration.

Broadband Internet access technologies are based on the use of which performs a huge variety of other functions, and satellite communications... Today it is the most promising and reliable data transfer method.

Convenience of high-speed internet

The ability of an Internet user to receive and transmit data of various content at high speed makes life much more convenient. It is impossible to list all the possibilities of broadband access, the main ones are online purchases, applications, ticket booking, online maps and much more.

Broadband access services include digital television, voice data transmission, and remote data storage.

Broadband can no doubt transform the entire internet. The applications of this access have yet to be explored to unlock their full potential.

Types of broadband connection

  • Wired Access - Based on wired access technologies such as Ethernet.
  • Wireless Broadband - Based on wireless technology like Radio-Ethernet.

Varieties of broadband internet access

1. Broadband Internet connection via VSAT.

This is an access method in which the user equipment is connected to a small earth station of satellite communications, which is connected to high-speed channels, through this, data is exchanged with the satellite on

In hard-to-reach places, this type of Internet is almost the only way to connect with the world.

2. Broadband Internet access using 3G / 4G technology.

4G Internet is cheaper than the previous connection, so it is more logical to choose it, if you have, of course, such a choice. If there is either the first option or the second, then you need to be content with the access that is available.

It is irrational to install networks with 3G / 4G access at a distance of more than 20-30 km from residential areas, therefore, territories that are poorly populated are forced to get by with VSAT.

3. High-speed Internet with access through fiber-optic lines.

Access through a fiber-optic communication line uses e / m radiation of the optical range as a signal carrier, and optically transparent fiber as guiding systems.

The main advantage of fiber-optic communication lines is that the lines are not subject to e / m interference and are not available for unauthorized use.

Prospects for broadband access

Broadband Internet access certainly holds great promise because Internet users are increasingly in need of high-speed access. For this purpose, cable and telephone networks are used. On the market Russian Federation The most widespread and promising way of broadband access is ADSL technology, for which telephone networks are used. Turning to this technology, the user can use the Internet while having an unoccupied telephone line.

However, ETTH home networks occupy a large share of the high-speed access market. A fiber-optic backbone is connected to the user, and Ethernet switches are installed. Compared to ADSL, this method is time consuming and costly to perform indoor wiring, but it provides users with the fastest speed.

Broadband access as a corporate connection

Why is broadband access essential for solving business problems? Because it delivers guaranteed high speed, which saves time. And this is very important point in modern world.

Not only speed is an indicator, because of which it is worth choosing broadband access. It is very important to pay attention to quality. Broadband access is not subject to absolutely any disconnections, and other problems that users of other types of network connection had to face are also excluded. It also preserves the nerve cells.

Nowadays, broadband internet is a general term used to refer to various high-speed connection types. The term broadband refers to the bandwidth ...

Broadband internet (abbreviated as broadband access) is also called high-speed access, which reflects the essence of this term - access to the Network at high speed - from 128 kbps and above. Today, when 100 Mbps is available for home subscribers, the concept of "high speed" has become subjective, depending on the needs of the user. But the term broadband access was introduced during the widespread use of dial-up access, when a connection is established using a modem connected to the public telephone network. This technology supports a maximum speed of 56 kbps. Broadband access involves other technologies that provide significantly higher speeds. However, a connection, for example, using ADSL technology with a data rate of 128 kbps, also applies to broadband.

From the history of the development of broadband access technology

Around the beginning of the 2000s. dial-up technology (dial-up) actively began to replace xDSL technologies (ADSL, HDSL, etc.), which provide a much higher access speed. For example, ADSL2 + technology allows you to download data at a maximum speed of 24 Mbit / s, and upload at a speed of 3.5 Mbit / s. To gain access via xDSL technology, a modem and a telephone line are also used, however, unlike dial-up access, the line is not fully occupied, that is, it remains possible to use both the telephone and the Internet at the same time.

Broadband today

Today, broadband Internet access is provided using various technologies - both wired and wireless. The former include the xDSL family of technologies, DOCSIS technology (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications), (data transmission in computer networks using twisted pair, optical cable or coaxial cable), FTTx (fiber to the x - optical fiber to point X) and PLC (Power line communication - data transmission using power lines). As far as FTTx is concerned, there are two basic varieties, although in essence they differ little from each other - (fiber to the building - fiber to the building) and FTTH (fiber to the home).

Today, wireless Internet access technologies, especially mobile ones, are being actively introduced and developed. Fixed wireless access is provided through satellite Internet, technology and fixed. However, already many cellular operators and wireless providers offer MTS and "" (""), which have market shares of 9.5% and 8.3%, respectively. These operators provide Internet access via both wired and third-generation wireless technologies. So, for example, MTS, having acquired the "" company, became a major operator of Internet access services using ADSL and ADSL2 + technologies, and. "Beeline", in addition to wireless access and mobile services, provides the service "Home Internet" fTTB technologies (fiber to the building - fiber to the building).

In fourth place with a 7.7% share of the broadband access market is the operator "", which provides Internet access services under the "Dom.ru" brand using FTTB technology. The Akado company closes the five leaders of the Russian broadband access market with a share of 3.8%. The operator provides Internet access using DOCSIS and Fast Ethernet technologies.

The rest of the Russian broadband access providers occupy less than half of the market - they account for 34.6%.

Penetration of broadband access services

According to iKS-Consulting, in the 1st quarter of 2011 the penetration of broadband Internet access services in Russia reached 36%, the number of subscribers in the private segment was 19 million users. But it should be borne in mind that in local markets, local players - for example, providers in St. Petersburg or providers in Moscow - can occupy significant shares, overtaking these large players in terms of the total subscriber base. In St. Petersburg, among such players: "" (InterZet), "" (brand "", which, however, is now part of Rostelecom), ("SkyNet"), etc. In Moscow, one of these companies can be mentioned,.

Configuring PPPoE Connection in Windows 7

Point-to-point over Ethernet is used to create temporary, dynamic broadband connections. If the IP address of your Internet connection is dynamic, this means that your ISP will assign you a new IP address every time you connect. PPPoE simplifies this connection by sending your username and password. Again, only do this if you don't have a router to do it.

Never use software provided by your ISP to connect via PPPoE. Use the procedure described here instead.

To set up a PPPoE connection, open the Network and Sharing Center window and click the Setup a connection or network link below the existing connections. Select Connect to the Internet and click Next. Select the Broadband PPPoE option, enter your username and password provided by your ISP, and enable the Remember this password option. Enter a name for the connection (whatever you like) and click the Connect button.

You can later connect using the Connect to a network pop-up window, or modify this connection in the Network Connections window.

The data transfer rate is usually measured in bits per second (bit). In a broadband connection, compared to a dial-up connection, the data transfer rate is very high. There are different types of broadband connections with varying cost, speed and availability.

Broadband wireless

A wireless Internet connection is commonplace today. Laptops, PDAs and mobile phones, all of these devices need a wireless connection. The download speeds provided by various types of wireless broadband Internet access are typically between 128 Kbps and 2 Mbps.

Cable broadband internet

The Internet can be accessed through a cable TV line. Cable TV is currently very popular and is available in almost all more or less large cities. Cable broadband internet typically offers speeds between 2 Mbps and 8 Mbps. In terms of popularity, cable Internet successfully competes with ADSL.

Mobile broadband access currently uses WCDMA / HSPA (3.5G generation), HSPA + (3.75G generation) mobile technologies. 4G technologies are also used: WiMax and LTE.

Broadband Internet access via VSAT

The Internet via VSAT is a method of accessing the Internet, in which the user's terminal equipment is connected to a small earth station of satellite communications (MZSSS, in fact, a subscriber VSAT terminal), which, in turn, exchanges data with a satellite in geostationary orbit ... The satellite transmits data to a central earth satellite communication station (CZSCS, in fact, an operator station), which is already connected to terrestrial high-speed Internet channels.

Currently, broadband access to the Internet based on VSAT technology has found application both in distant geological exploration expeditions and in individual households. Generally speaking, for hard-to-reach and sparsely populated areas, satellite Internet is almost the only real opportunity to provide high-quality communication with the outside world - fast Internet and IP-telephony.

Broadband Internet access using 3G / 4G technologies

In addition, high-speed Internet access can be provided using 3G / 4G technologies. If you need to choose between the Internet using 4G technology, for example, LTE Advanced or WiMax, and the Internet using VSAT technology, then you can be guided by the following logic. 4G Internet is likely to be cheaper than VSAT Internet in the near future, so if there is a 4G Internet coverage where the prospective Internet user is located, then 4G Internet is worth choosing. If not, then naturally you should use satellite Internet based on VSAT technology.

So, it turns out that when the fourth-generation communication covers the entire territory that is not covered by fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL), VSAT-Internet will no longer be needed? Most likely, this will not happen. The fact is that from economic calculations it follows that 3G / 4G networks are simply not profitable to build at a distance of more than 20-30 kilometers from densely populated areas. Therefore, huge territories with low population density will, apparently, remain the “fiefdom” of Internet access via VSAT in the near foreseeable future.

Broadband access via fiber optic communication line

Also, high-speed Internet access can be provided via fiber-optic lines. Let's consider this technology in more detail. A fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) is a data transmission channel that uses electromagnetic radiation in the optical (near-infrared) range as a carrier of an information signal, and optically transparent fiber (made of glass, quartz, etc.) as a guide system. laser propagates in such a fiber, repeatedly reflecting from the fiber cladding due to the phenomenon of total internal reflection of electromagnetic waves at the interface between dielectrics with different refractive indices.
Low attenuation of light in an optical fiber allows the use of fiber-optic communication over long distances without the use of amplifiers. Fiber-optic communication lines are free from electromagnetic interference and are difficult to access for unauthorized use: it is technically extremely difficult to intercept a signal transmitted over an optical cable unnoticed. In addition, due to the high carrier frequency and

Currently, the main networks for Internet access are broadband or. They replaced dial-up telephone lines, when the connection was made using a modem, which provided a maximum data transfer rate of only 56 kbps, and even then high Quality wire connections with PBX.
Today, broadband Internet service providers use the following technologies most often: ADSL, Ethernet and FTTx.

The very first technology of high-speed Internet access, which became widespread enough, was ADSL, or in translation from English - asymmetric digital subscriber line. It arose on the basis of DSL technology, which was intended to transmit video over telephone networks, but did not receive proper development. The difference in ADSL was the asymmetry of the communication channel - the speed of receiving information on the client's side was significantly higher.
As a communication line, ordinary wired telephone lines were used, a modem was connected on the user's side, which worked with the equipment installed on the PBX. The operation of ADSL equipment in the frequency range significantly higher than speech, provided the normal operation of classical telephone communication. The absence of costs for laying and installation of connecting lines led to the relative cheapness this method high-speed Internet access at that time.

ADSL technology provided the maximum speed of incoming traffic up to 24 Mbit / s, the speed of information transfer was significantly lower - up to 1.5 Mbit / s. The actual numbers were often much lower, as they were determined by the parameters of the connecting line.

Currently priority area organization of broadband access to the Internet is the use of twisted pair ( ethernet technology) and fiber-optic communication lines ( fTTx technology).
Twisted pair is a cable with twisted pairs of wires in an insulating, usually plastic, sheath. Depending on the operating frequency, the cable is divided into several categories.
For networks 100 ... 1000 Mbit / s the most commonly used CAT5e twisted pair.

The advantages of twisted pair networks are their low cost and ease of installation.
Disadvantages:

  1. Due to the loss in copper of conductors, the cable is limited in the length of the installation.
  2. Exposure to weathering.
  3. The need for lightning protection.
  4. If it is necessary to increase the network speed, it is necessary to replace the entire trunk with a cable of a higher category

All these shortcomings are devoid of broadband access networks built on fiber-optic communication lines. Currently, this type of construction of wired networks is the most promising. There are two types of fiber optic networking.

The first one is called Fiber To The Home or FTTH. In this version, the fiber-optic line reaches an apartment or house, where the switching equipment is directly installed. This type of connection is capable of providing the highest possible speed of access to the external network (1 Gbps and higher), but at the same time it is more expensive.
It is reasonable to use FTTH in villages or small towns with low-rise buildings located at a considerable distance from each other.

The second type of organization of fiber-optic communication lines is called Fiber To The Building, or FTTB for short. The meaning of this fiber-optic communication technology is that the backbone fiber-optic line reaches only the building, usually with a large number of apartments or offices, the network is wired through a twisted pair. The load of one fiber-optic line, as a rule, is 150 ... 250 subscribers, for each of which the data exchange rate is 100 Mbit / s.
This technology of broadband Internet access in terms of monetary costs for installation and subsequent operation is today the most optimal option for providing high-speed communication services.

Recently, wireless technologies have begun to actively develop, which may well compete in the speed of Internet access with wired ones. These are 4G networks. Currently, high-speed WiMAX (802.16 standard) and LTE networks are actively used.

For example, the so-called "fixed" WiMAX, based on the 802.16d standard, provides a network bandwidth of up to 75 Mbps and a signal coverage radius of up to 100 km.
These technologies will be in demand primarily in areas where the installation of wired networks for one reason or another is impossible, as well as for the provision of mobile broadband access to the Internet.

Broadband is high speed Internet access, which is fundamentally different from modem access. Broadband Internet is called high speed Internet due to its ability to transfer data at very high speeds over a regular telephone line. The biggest advantage of broadband is its speed, and also - your time in the world of the Internet will last as long as you do not turn off your computer and not for a minute less.

The benefits of broadband are many. Today it is not difficult to get the whole range of cable services, which means round-the-clock Internet at the highest speed. But, although the Internet has become popular for a long time, you can still find people in need of an educational program on this subject. And, perhaps, the only way to differentiate the Internet is its speed.

In general, there are three types of connections, of which everyone can choose the one that suits him, depending on how much time he wants to spend online and how much he is ready to pay for it.

There are people who spend most of their time in the cyber world, there are those who go there much less often:
- The first type of communication is called dial up (using a modem connected to the analog subscriber line of the public telephone network). This is the oldest and slowest way to connect to the Internet. Currently, it is practically not used.
- The second is DSL (Digital Subscriber Line), which is in many ways better than the previous type of communication. In addition, Internet access is available 24 hours a day.
- The last type is broadband, which is the best and most popular of all that exists today.

Broadband is the general name for a group of high-speed Internet connections that are available almost anytime, just like electricity and water at home are always at your service. Almost all organizations and individuals are moving from dial-up to broadband because it allows the user to act up to 40 times faster than other types of connections.
