What are family traditions? These are the usual family norms, behaviors, customs and attitudes that are passed down from generation to generation.

Russia is a unique country that carefully preserves the traditions of its people, deeply rooted in Orthodoxy. Traditions are the memory of the people that keeps a person as a person, allows you to feel the connection between times and generations. Unfortunately, in the modern world, they have become little observed in our families. Over the past hundred years, even some holidays have been replaced by others. There are certain traditions in any family. Most often they come from parental families, and then take root.

Russian people knew how to work and how to have a rest. We rested only on holidays. With the help of the calendar, we are with you today, and people who lived before us determined what the holiday would be like. They thoroughly prepared for it in advance, observed rituals and customs, visited temples, prepared gifts, treats, invited relatives to the festive table, and organized festivities.

Tradition as a way of developing memory It is characteristic that not only the tradition itself is stored in human memory, but also the smallest details associated with it - from a special way of preparing seasoning for dumplings, and ending with such trifles as a place to store an album with photographs of children ...

Traditions that came to us from ancient times and have survived to this day.

Nativity of Christ The main winter holiday. The day on the eve of Christmas is called kolyada. People dressed up, went from house to house, wishing well and prosperity. In our family, this is always a revered holiday. Mom treats the people who have come with sweets, visit the temple, prepare treats, invite relatives to visit.

Maslenitsa Maslenitsa was a favorite holiday, it lasted a whole week and marked the farewell to winter and the welcome of spring. All work stopped, and noisy fun began. We went to visit each other, abundantly treated ourselves to pancakes, pancakes, pies. We rode horse-drawn sleds, sleighs. This holiday is celebrated on the squares of towns and villages today. On Sunday, farewell to winter is held, a scarecrow is burned, and they walk. We also follow this tradition at home and at school.

Easter The celebration of Easter is perhaps the main custom and the most significant Orthodox event for Russians. The word "Passover" comes from the Greek language and means "passing", "deliverance".

Long before midnight, believers, in light robes, flock to the temple and reverently await the Easter Celebration. Easter in Russia is also celebrated with several other rituals: dyeing eggs and baking cakes. This ritual is so widespread in Russia that even practically non-believers do not avoid it. It consists in the exchange of kisses with a greeting-congratulation: "Christ is risen!" and the answer: "Indeed he is risen!" The egg, which was traditionally painted red, has become a must-have attribute and symbol of Easter.

Baptism Baptism is the oldest custom, which in the Orthodox and Catholic Churches belongs to the category of sacraments. It means the acceptance of a person into the bosom of the Christian church. After baptism, they say: "He became a divine man," that is, he joined the divinity. It is customary to invite relatives and friends to christenings, to set the festive table. The rite in Russia is performed in the same way as it has been done for centuries - with the help of the godfather and mother. On this day, everyone makes gifts to the newborn.

Wedding Weddings were usually celebrated in the fall or winter after Epiphany. Today, weddings are held mainly in the spring or summer. The wedding ceremony took a long time. The godfather with the godmother or the boy's parents came to match the girl. They sat down and started a conversation: "You have a product, we have a merchant." Then a series of pre-wedding meetings took place: the bride's show, an acquaintance with the groom's household. After that, preparations for the wedding took place for about a month. Throughout this period, the bride's friends gathered in her house for evenings, helped to prepare gifts for the wedding and a dowry: they sewed, knitted lace, embroidered. All ceremonies were accompanied by songs. For believers, the wedding is accompanied by a religious ceremony - a wedding.

Family traditions of Russia In a year - chintz; after 10 years - pink; after 25 years - silver; and after 50 years - gold; The main family holidays in Russia are in many ways similar to the corresponding traditions of other countries. These are christenings, birthdays, name days, weddings, anniversaries. An interesting Russian tradition is to celebrate marriage anniversaries.

Ivan Kupala Since ancient times, this holiday was celebrated at the end of June. This is a mystical, mysterious and at the same time fun holiday. On the day of Ivan Kupala, the girls curled wreaths of herbs, and in the evening they let them into the water, observing how and where they floated. If the wreath sinks, then the betrothed has fallen out of love. In the night they lit fires, danced around them, jumped over them, whoever is higher, he will be happy. It was customary to pour dirty water on the first comer, it was believed that the more often a person runs to swim, the cleaner his soul will be. My family and I love to have fun on this day, pouring water on each other.

Slide 2

The unifying power of family tradition

In an era of rapid changes, people strive for something new, try to get away from tradition, get rid of the foundations as from the remnants of the past, something unnecessary that has lost its meaning ... But is it always that something that had a special meaning over the centuries loses its value in the modern world?

Slide 3

One of the most important aspects of family life is adherence to the traditional hierarchy - the distribution of headship. The family should have a "master" - the one who makes the final decision, leads; "Free relations", liberalism are detrimental to family life. The traditional distribution of roles into “male” and “female” helps to maintain the family structure and reduces the number of conflicts. “Traditional” associatively sounds like “understandable”: when a man is in charge in the house, everyone understands who will solve a difficult situation, help, and therefore a harmonious atmosphere will reign in the family. The family is based on tradition. It is enough not to observe traditions, to repulse them, to mock them in order to destroy the family. If there is no order in the family, no traditions, even love, which can exist outside the bonds of Hymen, will not save the situation.

Slide 4

The birth of a family is accompanied by a beautiful tradition - marriage, the ritual is very symbolic: a bride in a snow-white dress, the newlyweds are presented with bread and salt, they wish them long years of happiness, etc. - all this carries a certain meaning, personifies purity, purity, the beginning of a new life.

In our time, this tradition is often violated: young people live in a "civil marriage", which in itself can hardly be called a family. A marriage is not just a "stamp" in a passport. The conclusion of a marriage union is a special ritual that notifies society about the emergence of a new family.

Slide 5

Self-deception and loneliness

By the way, "civil marriages" were popular at the beginning of the last century, then they were called Bolshevik families. The emergence of such "proletarian love" led to the breakdown of age-old traditions, while people's spiritual immunity began to weaken, meanwhile a dangerous epidemic continues in our time in the form of "free love". The consequences of the “spirit of freedom” are easy to predict ... A life of self-deception, loneliness ...

Slide 6

Family enlargement, birthdays of family members, funerals - all these are important traditional events that unite, make us experience sorrows and joys together, and support each other. Therefore, more than one family event should not be ignored. If it is customary in the family to gather on birthdays at the festive table, congratulate the birthday person, give gifts, then the child from an early age will feel that his birth is an important joyful event for those around him and, naturally, learn to enjoy other people. Any holidays, especially those celebrated in a warm family atmosphere, are a good vaccine against blues and depressions.

Slide 7

By the way, some "modern traditions" can have an extremely negative impact on the life of a family. For example, the tradition of coming home late in the evening after "libations" or the tradition on the weekend "to have a full party in the club." Traditions are a kind of guarantee of family happiness, if they are based on common sense and the experience of past generations.

Slide 8

Family traditions for every day

A family is living together, which means that everything should be shared: food, things, hygiene ... Every family has its own charter, vowel or unspoken, which allows you to distribute ordinary benefits (buying things, rest, etc.), its own rules, according to which the life of the family is planned for the near and distant future. There is a funny Finnish definition: a family is a small group of people who unite at one refrigerator. This definition has a deep meaning.

Slide 9

"At the kitchen table"

Slide 10

"Happy dumpling"

Another important family ritual, which is now, unfortunately, almost forgotten, is cooking together. Earlier, when there were no supermarkets yet, they loved to cook dumplings at home, with the whole family. It is very difficult for one to do them, and when both adults and children gather in the kitchen, everything turns out quickly, fun and tasty. It unites very much, when a “happy dumpling” is molded and someone finds it, children grow up knowing what to do, something in the family is very pleasant. Even an ordinary salad prepared at home with the participation of all family members tastes different from the one bought in the store, not to mention the quality of the product.

Slide 11

The Maundy Thursday tradition

The family tradition of “Clean Thursday” is a thing of the past, when the whole family devotes certain days of the week to hygiene procedures: they go to the bathhouse, cut their hair and nails. Today, preference is given to saunas, and hairstyles, manicure, and pedicure are done mainly in salons, since these are public places, the likelihood of infection increases. It turns out that the usual procedures can be dangerous, before, when there was a family tradition of "Clean Thursday", there was no such risk.

Slide 12

The tradition of "home".

Another important point for psychological health that traditional family life provides is a sense of security and complete protection. Only at home, surrounded by close people, a person can truly relax, rest ... A person during a long family life "got used" to quality sleep, during which he is completely defenseless. The sleeping animal wakes up instantly if something is wrong. We need at least eight hours of deep sleep every day for the brain to “process” information over the past day to rest - this is 50% of mental health, this condition is best carried out at the “hearth”.

Slide 13

Family "archives".

The family, moreover, is the custodian of personal information: letters, photographs, things, diplomas, "tags" from the hospital, locks of hair ... Complete reliable information about a person is only in family "archives". In the personnel departments, the FSB and other units there is only information about his deeds, and at home with his relatives - what he really is. In our time, this tradition is being replaced by another, extremely dangerous for family life - the tradition of revelations: now it is fashionable to talk about intimate details of personal life or even show - to be naked in front of others. Such "striptease" is expensive for psychological well-being. There are some types of mental illness when a person is not sure that his personal information is saved. Violation of confidentiality can lead to very serious psychological distress.

Slide 15

What could be more expensive for a family? Warmly welcomes the father's house, Here they are always waiting for you with love, And they see you off with kindness!

By themselves, family traditions can symbolize health - both spiritually and physically. Traditional means predictable, therefore, internal expectations are fulfilled, that is, everything is fine. And the more traditional our life is, the less stress it has - the main sources of disease. A family in which certain traditions are observed is a factor of health and longevity. According to various statistics, people living in a family are less likely to get sick and have a longer life expectancy.

“Family traditions are the usual family norms, behaviors, customs and attitudes that are passed down from generation to generation.” With a great deal of truth, it can be assumed that when the phrase “family traditions” is mentioned, most people associate with the words “home "," Relatives "," parents "," children. " something that is inherent only in your family. It is this "something" that can be called a family tradition. These memories are very deep in human consciousness, because the actions that we mean by the concept of "family traditions" have been repeated many times since early childhood.

What are family traditions?

This is the spiritual atmosphere of the house, which consists of the daily routine, customs, lifestyle and habits of its inhabitants.

Our family has many traditions that, perhaps, every family has.

For example, we celebrate birthdays. On this day, there are a lot of gifts, joy and fun ...

And, of course, a birthday cake ...

We are of course celebrating the New Year!

On the eve of the holiday, we decorate the Christmas tree with the whole family, write a letter to Santa Claus ...

For all ages Russian men,

They won wars with their heroism,

All - officers, grooms, pages,

They gave their lives for the honor of Russia.

And the Russian spirit has not weakened in you,

We see in you heroes of the past, glorious,

You will do a lot of necessary things

For lovely women and for the whole country !!!

In addition to holiday traditions in our family, it is customary:

  • wish good night and good morning;
  • respect and honor elders;
  • do not offend each other;
  • in the evening at dinner to sum up the day;
  • get together to give help to those who need it;

and much more…

A family Family is happiness, love and luck, Family is summer trips to the country. Family is a holiday, family dates, Gifts, purchases, pleasant spending. Having children, the first step, the first babble, Dreams of good, excitement and awe. Family is work, caring for each other, Family is a lot of homework. Family is important! Family is difficult! But it is impossible to live happily alone! Always be together, take care of love, Drive grievances and quarrels away, I want friends to talk about us: "What a good family you are!"

  • A family - the most important thing in life for each of us. It is in the family that we learn love, responsibility, care and respect, a sense of our need for loved ones, the belief that there is a place on earth where you are expected and loved.

Slide 2

Relevance

The family occupies an important place in a person's life. In a family, a person grows, develops, and his character is formed. Family traditions play an important role in the formation of a person's personality. Tradition is a custom, an established order in behavior, in everyday life, as well as what has passed from one generation to another, inherited from ancestors. Connecting generations, preserving family traditions - this has always been important. Unfortunately, many modern families live scattered, rarely get together, forget about their parents - they do not have joint activities. The lack of traditions in the family leads to the separation of people, even the closest ones.

Slide 3

Purpose and objectives of the project

Development of interest in family traditions.

  • talk with your parents about traditions in our family,
  • collect photographic material from the family album,
  • create a presentation,
  • speak to classmates.

    Evgeniya Tushina
    Presentation of the project "Family Traditions"

    I want to share my project... Which was realized by me in the younger group for children 3-4 years old. The project is called"Family traditions".

    The purpose the project was the cultivation of feelings of affection and love for their family and their loved ones.

    Of course, no idea goes without the active participation of parents. The parents of my group enthusiastically participated in project... Games were held for parents " Family tradition"," A friendly family ". With the help of parents, a photo album" Dad, mom, I am a friendly family "was assembled. An exhibition of joint handicrafts was held. And of course, a drawing competition on the topic" Our beloved family tradition".

    In a group with children, we read stories and poems about grandparents. They talked about what family members they can name, clarified family ties. Played games, eg: "Mom puts to bed", "Dad fixes the car." They picked up the lullabies they heard from their mothers. We looked at the photo album and listened to the stories of children about the events depicted in the photographs.

    I think that my project I managed to encourage parents to show interest in their children's actions and strengthen relationships within the family.

    Thanks for attention!
