How to mold a sunflower from polymer clay deco. Sunflower made of polymer clay. Step by step instructions with photo

In this master class we will make sunny flowers, namely sunflowers from polymer clay ... This process is simple, so it takes no more than an hour for an experienced craftswoman, we advise beginners to thoroughly prepare and study the section. With an effort, the result will be a beautiful set of sunflower jewelry or an unusual floral arrangement. Recently, it has become very fashionable to decorate the interior with such compositions. It is especially important to do this before the holidays. Transform your interior and order furniture from the manufacturer. And supplement it with sunflowers.
For work we need the following tools and materials:
  • Polymer clay in three shades: yellow, brown and black (how to choose clay - read the article);
  • Blade or utility knife, curly blade;
  • Round cutter;
  • Nail tweezers, nail scissors are also suitable;
  • Toothpicks or needles;
  • Pasta machine or rolling pin;
  • Polymer clay varnish.

Before starting work, knead the plastic well.
1. Roll out the black plastic at the maximum thickness of the pasta machine. Use a round cutter to cut three shapes.

2. With manicure tweezers, starting from any edge of the black plastic mold, we lightly pinch the clay so that we get triangles (you drive the tweezers to the depth of the layer and pinch).

3. From polymer clay of yellow and brown shades, we make a smooth transition of color. Observe the proportions of different colors of clay in the same ratio as shown in the figure.

4. Fold the resulting yellow-brown ribbon with an accordion.

5. Squeeze the cane, use your fingers to pinch the top in the yellow area so that the sausage has the shape of a petal. We cut the cane into thin petals.

6. Use a toothpick along the petal to make a central vein. Do the same with all the petals.

7. Put the first layer of petals on the black core sunflower from polymer clay... We do this so that each next petal overlaps the previous one.

8. Place the second layer of petals. We put them on the bottom layer in such a way that they cover the space between the petals of the first row.

9. Remember to make holes in the places you want. For the earrings, I chose the thickest petals. Now we can safely send everything for baking. Strictly observe the baking time and temperature, following the recommendations on the package.

10. After baking, degrease the surface of the polymer clay sunflowers with any detergent, polish, if necessary, the back of the product and varnish the sunflowers. Insert the connecting rings into the holes of the petals and hang the hooks into them. And the metal base for the ring is enough to put on quick-drying glue.

These polymer clay sunflowers can become stylish jewelry or decorate the interior.

So let's get started.

Step 1: making leaves

For the manufacture of leaves, you first need to make a shade suitable for them. To do this, mix 1 part black, 1 part blue, and 4 parts light green clay.

Mix everything well until a uniform color is obtained. You should have a dark green clay.

Roll a ball out of a piece of dark green clay. Then flatten this ball into a thin disk. Squeeze one side of the disc with your fingers and pull it forward. Thus, you should get a leaf.

Using a thin blade, form a center line and veins on the leaves.

Step 2: prepare the petal clay

  • To make the petals, take 2 parts yellow clay and one part orange and light brown clay.
  • Roll all the pieces into canes. Press the canes together in this way: first brown, then yellow and finally orange.

Roll the canes into a ball. Then pull the ball out into one long cane. Fold it in half lengthwise and roll it back into a thin cane.

Step 3: sculpt the petals

Pinch off small pieces 1-1.5 cm long from the cane. Roll the pieces into thin tubes. Press the ends of the tubes to the middle.

Step 4: make the middle

From a lump of dark brown clay, form a medium-sized ball, which then squeeze into a round disk.

Use a toothpick to make small, thin indentations on the disc.

Step 5: collect the flower

Stick the yellow-brown petals to the seamy side of the disc. Lay the petals a little overlap - this will make the sunflower look more organic.

At the end of the work, bend some of the petals slightly to the sides - this will give them a more natural look.

Step 6: bake the flowers

  • Bake the formed flowers in a hot oven for the amount of time indicated in the instructions for polymer clay.
  • Cool the baked sunflowers.

The polymer clay sunflower is ready!

You can glue a magnet to such polymer clay sunflowers from the wrong side and then send them to the refrigerator. They can also be glued to a hair clip or used as a decoration for a summer panel - that's as you wish.

Good luck to everyone!
