How Russian show business is waging a war with its own people. Why do we need show business stars Who covers show business

It should be noted that for last years many journalists tried to promote show business representatives to be frank about their connections with criminals, but none of them got into conversation. Although many of these people have something to say.

The fact is that, unlike the older generation, today's pop stars are young people and have a much simpler attitude to many things. For them, friendship or contacts with representatives of the underworld (lads) is quite common. There are many cases when some famous artist came to the province with concerts, and there he was taken under their patronage not by the official authorities, but by the criminal ones. And there is nothing shameful in this if the lads respect the artist and provide him with all the benefits: safety, accommodation, rest. Another thing is when an artist swoops down on the so-called "thugs". Here are some cases.

Singer Viktor Saltykov was invited to a party under open air... As expected, he played the concert and was seated by the kind hosts at the table with him. However, in the midst of the fun, one of the tipsy neighbors on the table climbed up to him with questions, another tried to intercede for the guest, and a fight broke out. Soon, other feasting parties joined in, some of them carrying firearms. Shooting began. Fortunately, the singer himself did not see this, as he was caught up in time by one of the owners under the "white ruchenki" and taken away from the scene of the carnage.

Another unpleasant incident happened with the singer Tatyana Ovsienko. She performed in one of the provincial cities, and after the performance, when all that remained was to change clothes and remove the equipment, a crowd of drunken guys appeared in front of the stage. There were ten of them. Their intentions were rather aggressive - they were going to take the singer and her musicians with them so that they "sang to them on their territory." And again, chance saved the artists from the worst. The singer's husband and at the same time her producer, Vladimir Dubovitsky, managed to talk uninvited visitors and ensured that the singer and musicians were left alone.

Something similar happened with the Boney M group during their tour in Tatarstan. Due to the careless work of the administrator who organized the trip (he decided to save money on a helicopter when flying from one city to another and took the artists by bus), the group was late and the concert was canceled. According to the schedule, the artists had to come back in a few hours to catch the plane leaving for London. However, the lads did not want to be at a loss and announced: until the money spent on the concert is returned to them, the group will not go anywhere. The artists were accommodated in a hotel, and at the exit they set up guards with trunks. This arrest lasted for several days.

Another side effect of the "friendship" between the artists and the mafia is tip-off robberies. That is, for the time being, the criminals play friendship with the artist, and then, at the first opportunity, send their fellow robbers to him, who shake the star "in full." Thus, today we can say that over the past ten years, a whole caste of criminals has formed in the criminal environment, specializing in robbing pop stars.

In this regard, the most long-suffering artist of the Russian pop scene can be safely called the singer Sergei Penkin. Robbers visit him more often than any other entertainer. And it started back in 1992 - then for the first time some cool people tried to impose tribute on Penkin. Two years later, Penkin fell victim to criminals three times. First, Chechen racketeers ran into him twice (it was on tour), and then unknown persons robbed his apartment in Moscow. Then another incident happened.

Early in the morning, the doorbell rang in the singer's apartment. When the sleepy Penkin looked through the peephole, he found a young man on the landing with a luxurious bouquet of flowers in his hands. Thinking that this is another admirer of his talent, the singer, without hesitation, opened the door. And then the unexpected happened. Together with the “admirer”, two more strong young men broke into the singer's apartment, who kicked Penkin into the room, where they laid him on the floor and tied him up. After that, they demanded that he give out all the cash available in the house, but when the singer announced that he did not have one, they began to search the apartment. They really did not find money, but the robbers compensated for their absence with valuable things. They put video and audio equipment in their bags, took away from the singer a gold chain with a cross, a ring and a bracelet with a diamond. They did not take any of the heavy things, apparently for fear of drawing too much attention to themselves.

Something similar happened to Penkin three years later - on December 22, 1997. That time, the singer returned from a tour of Crimea and Kazakhstan (by the way, Penkin was also unlucky in Crimea - he was arrested by the local police for roller skating) and at about three o'clock in the afternoon drove up to his house on Bolshaya Dorogomilovskaya Street. While his sound engineer and driver were unloading things from the car, Penkin decided to go up to his apartment, where his mother, Antonina Nikolaevna, was to wait for him. However, before he had time to embrace her, he suddenly heard someone screaming on the landing. He rushed out of the apartment and saw a terrible picture: a hefty fellow in a mask was beating his driver, and the second stranger, wearing the same mask, calmly watched what was happening. Here's what the artist himself says:

“At first I thought that perhaps these“ pitching ”would bludgeon Yura for a word he had inadvertently thrown. But it turned out that the visit of these "closets" had been planned in advance. While I was coming to my senses, trying to understand the ongoing nightmare, another bandit arrived in time. The command followed: "All to the floor." Nina, my secretary, tried to defend herself, for which she was kicked in the temple. She screamed and fell backwards. Turning to Yura, I saw him lying in a pool of blood. Kolya (the sound engineer of the singer) was dragged by the hair, kicking in the kidneys along the way. I asked the torturers for only one thing, so that they would not touch my elderly mother, who was in real shock, and prayed to God that the neighbors would call the police. But, alas, this did not happen.

At that moment the doorbell rang. My joy knew no bounds - at last they would save us. One of the bandits opened - my administrator Petya Sorokin, a former military man, was standing on the threshold. He was hit in the stomach on the move. Petya was beaten the longest. They stopped tormenting Sorokin only when he wheezed and began to cough up blood. "

The robbers also broke an eyebrow of Penkin himself, put him on his knees (they tied everyone else up and threw them on the floor) and forced him to name the place where he keeps money and jewelry. To get rid of this nightmare as soon as possible, the singer pointed to the bag with which he returned from the tour. It contained 15 thousand dollars. Grabbing a bag as well mobile phone artist, the robbers hastily retreated. Penkin's second driver narrowly escaped the attack. All this time he remained in the car and went upstairs only after the robbers ran out of the entrance.

According to the singer, this attack was planned on a tip from someone from his inner circle. Because only these people could know when the artist would return from the tour and that he would have a decent amount of money with him. In 1996, robbers also visited another popular performer, Chris Kelme. Moreover, they chose for this not an ordinary day, but the day when the singer celebrated his 40th birthday. The victim himself says: “They say, according to legends, the 40th anniversary should not be celebrated. I didn’t listen to these superstitious advice and went to the “Fresh Wind” TV channel. He performed live, came home. Soon the phone rang. A sweet girlish voice asked for a magnetic recording "at 38" for the radio broadcast. Who will refuse? I promised. We had to stop by for the film. I wait, after a while the doorbell rings.

Without hesitation, I open it, and there is a man, pointing a gun at me! And is silent. If, for example, he demanded money, I would say: "Yes, take, for God's sake, how much you need!" But he just kept silent, and I rushed at him out of fear. Such a reaction is inadequate. He shot at the ceiling when I held his hand. Finally, he broke free and ran down the stairs. Here's a birthday. And then we did not find traces of bullets, maybe it was just a scarecrow? I still have not understood what kind of attack it was. "

Something similar happened with the composer Irina Gribulina. True, in her case, the robbers did not leave empty-handed. Irina, just like Kelmi, was waiting at home for the arrival of guests (they were supposed to come for the next song) and when the doorbell rang, she opened it without any fear. However, instead of colleagues at work, two unknown men burst into her apartment and turned out to be commonplace robbers. They tied up a defenseless woman and began gutting her home. Fortunately, nothing else interested them, and, having robbed the apartment, they left as quickly as they appeared.

In December 1996, the popular singer and composer Yuri Loza became a victim of robbers who came on a tip. What happened? In 1996, Loza finally managed to acquire his own studio in the basement of a vocational school on Bolshaya Kalitnikovskaya Street, which he had been collecting literally bit by bit for several years. He laid the floors in it himself, picked up the equipment himself. However, as soon as the studio began to function, Loza suddenly found that the robbers were showing increased attention to her. In September, they cut off three doors by autogen, but failed to overcome the fourth. The singer then installed new doors, even more reliable. However, the second time, the robbers were more cunning. They did not burst through the door, but went around - dismantled the outer brickwork basement, sawed through the gratings with a welding machine and penetrated inside. And already there they "frolic" - they stole all the equipment, including a very rare 32-cable tape recorder, processors, recorders, expensive professional headphones, etc. (for a total of 37 thousand dollars).

Lohse immediately assumed that this was a purely ordered robbery. He stated: “From the very beginning it was clear that the common man did not need this technique and it was stolen by those who were directly involved with the recording. In fact, one artist robbed the other. In the world of show business, all sorts of ideas about honor and morality have long been lost. " Literally a couple of months after the robbery, the criminals were detained. They turned out to be two residents of the Moscow region - from Voskresensk and Lyuberets. How were they found? One of them came out of the "underground" and began to offer the musicians part of the equipment stolen from Loza. He did not know that some of the devices were the only ones in Moscow, so it turned out to be quite simple to bring him to clean water. Loza, who found out about this, immediately called the police, and through a figurehead, a meeting with the seller was organized, at which the guy was tied. Almost immediately, they took his partner at the apartment and found part of the equipment.

As it turned out, one of the detainees had already been repeatedly caught stealing musical instruments. In his youth, he wanted to create his own ensemble, but he could not realize his dream and decided to devote his life to music in a different way. He got to the singer by chance - he learned from the booklet that the singer was opening a new studio. There, in the booklet, her address was also registered. Unfortunately, the most sophisticated part of the stolen (for 20 thousand dollars) was never found. The robbers reported that they managed to sell it, but the artist doubts this. He believes that she settled with their potential customer - a person who is professionally versed in such equipment (it was no coincidence that he took the best of what was stolen for himself). The court, held in May 1998, sentenced the music lover thief to six years in prison with confiscation of property, and his partner to five. By the way, this is the very rare case when it was possible to bring to justice the criminals who worked in the pop environment.

A lot of trouble for artists is brought by their housemaids. There are many known cases when they either themselves were participants in thefts, or directed the robbers to their owners. Another option is when one of the acquaintances or relatives of the housekeepers, taking advantage of the opportunity, dragged from the star's house everything that was lying badly. So, for example, it was with Christina Orbakaite. In 1999, the son of her housekeeper stole money from the singer's apartment. True, the guy was quickly identified and detained.

In January 2002, the housemaid of the singer Natalya Shturm brought robbers to her house. They came at the very moment when the singer was resting with her husband in Brazil, and her mother and daughter were in a sanatorium near Moscow. The thieves took away many valuable things, and also tore from the wall and stole the safe, which contained jewelry worth 40 thousand dollars. Among them was a set of amethyst, made by a master who made exclusive items for Galina Brezhneva. It is worth noting that the safe was carefully camouflaged: it was hidden by a large aquarium, in which there was ... a crocodile. But the thieves knew about this cache from the housekeeper, so they easily got to it. Apparently, the criminals and the door were opened with her own help - she could take a cast from the keys to the front door.

In March of the same year, rumors circulated in Moscow that a gang was operating in the city that robbing only artists. This information caused a great rustle in the bohemian environment, whose representatives rushed to strengthen their homes, and some of them were simply afraid to appear at parties with their expensive jewelry. For example, the singer Valery Meladze did this. He was going to come to his "solo albums" in the Kremlin Palace, wearing an insanely expensive ring with a huge diamond on his finger. But the singer's friend who found out about this told him about the gang and advised him not to do it. Meladze had to confine herself to a stylish suit from Dolce Gabbana.

But the most egregious incident occurred on January 31, 2003. On that day, the robbers paid a visit to the apartment of the famous producer Joseph and almost killed his son, 13-year-old Dmitry.

The attack took place at 7 am in a house on Pokrovka Street. At that moment, the head of the family was absent, he went to the Sheremetyevo-2 airport to fly from there to Hamburg. Apparently, the criminals (they were Caucasians) followed him and, as soon as he left his home, they paid a visit there. There were three bandits, all of them armed with firearms and knives. The robbers broke into the apartment "on the shoulders" of the governess. At that moment, Prigozhin's wife, son and young daughter were in the apartment. The criminals tied up both women and the girl, pushed them into the wardrobe. One of the robbers stabbed the son in the leg, who tried to resist. Then the bandit stabbed Dmitry 4 more times, trying to get his mother to talk in this way and find out where the jewelry was. Naturally, the woman said everything she knew. In the end, the bandits took everything jewelry, two cell phones, money. The total material damage amounted to at least 200 thousand dollars.

Prigozhin found out about the incident shortly before the departure - his wife told him about it by phone, and he immediately returned back. As he said in hot pursuit: “- I was morally killed, it would be better if they did it physically. Infinite State. I live insecure in this country. Money doesn't interest me now. My relatives could have died ... "

The detectives spent a little less than a month on solving this crime. Already at the end of February, two of the criminals were detained - a native of Georgia and a resident of the Moscow region. As it turned out, the first was a member of one of the Georgian criminal gangs, who are engaged in apartment robbery in Moscow. It was this man who cut the producer's son with a knife. Some of the things from Prigozhin's house were found in the robber's apartment: jewelry, Dmitry's computer.

To be continued...

As a result, television and radio have actually ended up in the hands of large production centers, which means that now the air is closed to everything that is not included in the concept of "commercial pop". Spectators and listeners will have to forget for a long time about those who do not look like glucose and hearts, about young talented performer poets and non-standard personalities on stage.

About ten years ago, the country made fun of the incompetent Lena Zosimova, but at the same time such groups as "Spleen", "Mumiy Troll", "Bi-2" were born. Five years ago, a star named Zemfira lit up in the country, and since then there has been silence. Music critics struggle every year to call someone the discovery of the year, and even if they succeed, next year The "opening" bursts like a soap bubble. It is naive to blame the lack of talent. The reasons are much more prosaic. The music market turned out to be rigidly divided between various "clans". Today, the path to show business has already been ordered not only for a talented solo musician, but even for a producer with a name who does not have well-established connections in radio and television circles and who has not staked out a “place in the sun” for himself in time.

Russian contemporary music, which today is "fed" to a significant part of our country, seems to be following the same slippery path along which Russian comedians briskly walked. "Humorous" television has long been divided between low-standard "Laughing Panoramas" and "Sold Out". So the musical television network today is formed mainly on the principle of "people hawala". Producers, tuned in to maximum earnings, have long ceased to look at their projects as art and are trying to extract the maximum monetary benefit from regular one-day stars. The project should pay off, and for this the easiest way is, for example, to undress a girl's group in front of photo and television cameras, as is happening today with Reflex, Diamant, Via Groi. The naked nature climbs onto the screens with terrible force, and for the music itself and, above all, for interesting lyrics, only the Internet remains now - the only real alternative to the notorious clannishness.

Recently, several high-profile resignations have occurred in Russian show business for various reasons. Radio producer Mikhail Kozyrev and MTV-Russia president Linda Jensen resigned from their posts. The media resources under their control were at least some kind of competition with the established system. Kozyrev's "Our Radio" has been criticized recently even by fans of rock music, but the mechanism created by the producer was, albeit weak, but almost the only alternative to the existing system of clan show business. Moreover, Kozyrev also largely depended on the "elder pop brother". On one of the TV broadcasts, he actually admitted that the appearance in his programs of a large number of songs of the Lube group is a compromise, not devoid of a financial basis.

But even with the help of "Lube" - by the way, by no means the worst example of the genre - Kozyrev did not stay afloat. How the format of the original Russian-language rock radio station will be changed has not yet been reported, but there is no doubt that it will be corrected. Rumor has it that behind the resignation is the dissatisfaction of shareholders who have ceased to receive advertising profits. If so, the station can only be reoriented in one direction - towards pop culture. It was there that the frequencies of "Open Radio", "Ultra" and a number of other stations went where the pop products of the "musical oligarchs" were not played. In their place, stations appeared, largely cloning each other and united in media holdings.

The most influential production centers, following the example of radio stations, also began to merge. Real Records, controlled by one of the most influential people in Russian show business, producer Iosif Prigozhin, is now headed by a representative of a rival "clan" - Andrei Lukinov, director of the production center of Igor Matvienko. A new tandem "Prigozhin - Matvienko - Maxim Fadeev", created the other day, called "The First Concert Company" has become the largest in the Russian show business. It is these three figures that largely determine what kind of music and in what volumes Russians will listen. And although some experts believe that this is only a local association for the concerts of the notorious "Star Factory", this does not change the general trend. Competitors began to negotiate, which means that "live" performers have less and less chances to break through to the mass audience. Already today, everything that is produced for a wide audience must pass through a production sieve, where the artist leaves not only most of his creative ideas, but also most of the money earned. I don’t like it - whether you’re at least seven spans in your forehead, go to jab in the evenings in non-standard clubs after your main work.

“Probably, the hegemony of pop is absolutely healthy trend, - admitted "NI" one of the regional organizers of rock concerts. - Pop music, in principle, bears a healthy character, and now the time is quite calm, shocks are not relevant. I do not exclude that, among other things, politics influences this trend. Why make people think about something? "

One gets the impression that the intellectual audience today is really not profitable for either radio or television. The number of DJs forced to play the role of silly, always laughing characters on the air is multiplying for one simple reason. A person who chooses "simpler" music, as a rule, easily bites on advertising. Experts agree that after a “smart” song, a commercial loses up to 50% of its effectiveness. Why, for example, did Verka Serduchka star in an advertisement for washing powder? Due to the peculiarities target audience... In Serdyuchka's place, it is difficult to imagine Zemfira, Garik Sukachev or Igor Butman, for example.

The clan system, of course, does not mean that the audience is forcibly tortured with bad music. On the contrary, almost all radio stations conduct special tests for the target audience, call random phones, offer to listen to fragments of songs and give their opinion. However, this opinion is based on already heard musical standards, which were instilled in the audience by the same people who conduct the tests. Not only are these standards far from the concept of "art", but there is also a complete lack of understanding that the audience is not a bunch of pigs who all as one should eat the same food (read, musical) waste. What about jazz? And rock? And the classics? Today they are fading into the background in the same way as real artists of the spoken genre, it seems, were forever hidden behind the chest of Petrosyan's wife Elena Stepanenko.

However, it is not only pop radio tests that determine the number of broadcasts. Basically, this number depends on the balance of power in the production offices. For example, the appearance of the singer Valeria on the air depends primarily on the "political weight" of her husband, producer Joseph Prigogine. In this regard, the information that has recently appeared on the Internet is interesting. According to unconfirmed information, on the eve of the New Year, the general director of Channel One, Konstantin Ernst, asked Prigozhin to organize Valeria's concert. Taking into account the media capabilities of the First, it is not accepted to pay a fee for such concerts, and because of this, the husband-producer was allegedly deprived of the transcendental two hundred thousand dollars that a certain generous customer offered for Valeria's performance. The concerts overlapped each other, and in the sacramental choice of "money or a prize" Prigozhin ventured to choose the first. Rumor has it that now Valeria will appear on the channel much less often.

Ambitious Ernst, by the way, defines a lot today. Having quarreled with him, the once mighty Igor Krutoy instantly lost his former influence, although he continues to control the Muz-TV channel. It is not profitable to quarrel with Ernst: he largely determines the musical hierarchy in the country, since he owns today the most powerful instrument of influencing the mass musical taste. And writing a "digestible" hit is not a problem these days. Moreover, it is not a problem to turn a mediocre song into a hit. The only question is who will be in the "chocolate" after that.

Konstantin Bakanov, "NI"

Valery Syutkin, singer:

- I do not participate in show business, I work according to the old pop laws. I hate intrigue and try not to waste time talking with people who are not interesting to me. Industrialization is always killing all living things, this applies not only to the music industry. Today, many people think in terms of “product - project - money - result”. Now the main thing in the pop scene is to look good. There are fewer and fewer works that make you think or feel.

Vadim STEPANTSOV, leader of the Bakhyt-kompot group:

- The most gratifying option will be when what we call rock 'n' roll or Russian rock, will develop without regard to electronic mass media. In this sense, the chanson has the healthiest tendency now. People just buy what their soul asks for and listen. And here, among rockers and popers, it all depends on what is ordered to love from above. This is bad.

Tatyana ANTSIFEROVA, pop singer:

- Today's show business gives me a sad smile. Everyone wants quick cash in any way. There are few noble bloods in our country. They were destroyed at the beginning of the twentieth century, and finished off in the 30s. All leverage today is largely in the hands of the spineless people who have infiltrated the pop industry. If there was an opportunity to trade in weapons and drugs, they would do this too, but there is no such opportunity. A few more years will pass, and we will lose a healthy generation in our country. The teenagers will be satisfied with the musical gum, they will feel comfortable. And the old rockers and the old guard of the stage are already tired of fighting with the windmills. I don't see strong people who can bang their fists, say "Sha!" and recapture this field. For this you need a channel, you need money, but you don't.

Ivan SHAPOVALOV, music producer, founder of the Tatu group:

- I am now driving in the car, listening to music and not thinking about any clannishness. Let's listen together. Don't you like this music? Here is Dima Bilan. Good song "On the shore of the sky." And here is Gwen Stefani. Good music too. But the oriental melody is somehow instrumental. And here, too, is east - Tarkan. In my opinion, everything is fine, I like everything. And if you don’t like it, I put on discs Of course, some hits are very often rotated, but this means that people like them.

Pop stars and movie stars seem ideal to us. We admire their intelligence, insight, talent. We look at their impeccable looks, expensive outfits and chic life. We listen to their touching speeches from the stage and applaud when they donate large sums of money to charity.

But we know very little about celebrities, because we do not encounter them in everyday life. But their housekeepers know a lot more. After all, nannies, cleaners, cooks and personal assistants have to endure all the whims of star employers.

Celebrity assistants know their charges better than their moms and dads, even better than the most meticulous and annoying journalists. Unsurprisingly, employees often abandon the robot, unable to withstand the nagging or oddities of the employer. And along the way, they also tell everything that they managed to learn and experience.

1. Lady Gaga and the cold bed

The scandal of the shocking singer with the former assistant Jennifer O'Neill erupted all over the world. Through the court, the former housekeeper received a large sum of money from the star, and a little later she wrote a book about her misadventures.

Stephanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta (the singer's real name) made her assistant warm her cold bed. She could wake Jennifer up in the middle of the night to play another movie for her. The assistant's duties even included draining the water behind the star in the toilet.

2. Britney Spears and burgers

Britney's maid once shared her observations, revealing that the singer has a passion for fast food. The housekeeper now and then found burgers, potatoes and empty junk food packages under the star's bed. In addition, in one of the closets, Britney keeps a considerable collection of toys for love pleasures.

3. Lazy Mariah Carey

When the singer comes home, she demands that they take her shoes off and put her shoes back on. And in front of her, you need to walk with your back forward to catch the star when she decides to fall.

It's common for an assistant to stand next to the singer with a bottle of soda and wait while she drinks water through a straw. Often the assistants even had to wash the head of the tired star themselves.

But loyalty and fulfillment of all orders do not mean anything yet. So Mariah fired her long-term nanny of her children for being too attached to her children, and they began to consider her as their own.

4. Clean Christian Bale

Christian Bale's assistant has written an entire book about the life of a movie star. Harrison Chun recalled that when long absence actor, he had to look after a whole flock of possums living in the backyard.

But even that was not as disgusting as sniffing Christian's armpits before the latter entered the red carpet. The actor asked to be informed if he smelled of something other than deodorant.

5. The prudent Alexander Malinin

To let the nanny near the children, the singer demanded that she observe all the hygiene rules he had invented. Before the nanny selected by Alexander was shown the children, she had to take a shower using special means, rinse her throat with a hydrogen peroxide solution, and also put on a medical gown and put on a mask.

6. Ani Lorak and fear of betrayal

After watching how Western celebrities had mistresses among nannies and governesses (Jude Law, Ethan Hawke, Ozzy Osbourne, Arnold Schwarzenegger), Ani decided at all costs not to allow this in her family. Therefore, only elderly nannies and housekeepers are employed. Although the years are not good for Carolina herself.

7. Near Madonna everyone is losing weight

The singer is simply fixated on diets and makes her assistants also adhere to the correct (in her opinion) nutrition.

The singer requires her assistants to be able to do without sleep in order to bring her 5-6 bottles of fresh water a night. And for all this suffering, Madonna pays assistants 2 times less than her stellar colleagues.

8. Shaved Ryan Gosling

The actor, beloved by millions, sleeps with his feet on the pillow, walks up the stairs on all fours and hates the hair on his body. The housekeeper reports that Ryan is a fan of full body hair removal.

9. Megan Fox and the riots

For Megan Fox, you literally need to follow on his heels. The actress loves to throw things all over the house, and then she gets terribly mad that she cannot find anything. In addition, the beauty often forgets to flush the toilet, for which she receives scolding from friends. She herself complains that she neglects hygiene and cannot help herself.

10. Electoral Alla Pugacheva

A longtime housekeeper from the Pugacheva house told about the times when she served Alla and Philip. It turns out that Alla Borisovna loves fried cucumbers. At the same time, Philip Bedrosovich loved to eat fast food.

11. Dirty Johnny Depp

It's not for nothing that they joke about Johnny Depp that he has gotten too used to the role of a pirate. The fact is that the illustrious actor is not a fan of the shower, moreover, he loves to wear the same clothes for weeks in a row. Maybe an actor really needs such an image in order to convincingly play the roles of "dirty" characters? We have already written about the philosophy of Johnny Depp's life earlier.

12. Strict Charlize Theron

The servants in Charlize's house are not allowed to talk. Even looking is allowed only down, at your feet. If a housekeeper or nanny has a burning question, then she writes it down in a special diary kept in an agreed place. There the servant finds Charlize's answers.

It seems that the stars should treat their housekeepers, nannies and assistants with great respect, because they have a lot of dirt on them. And if there is compromising evidence on a star, then with a high degree of probability it can be used.

After all these details, we began to look at celebrities with different eyes, without the former share of admiration. It turns out that famous people are not just the same as everyone else, but also have their own quirks, sometimes very strange and unpleasant.

Now you know a little more about your favorite stars. Has your attitude towards them changed? Share your opinion on this in the comments.

Show Business

The end of November and the beginning of December are the time when the media begin to sum up the results of the year and, among other things, publish lists of the main achievements in cinema, theater, and music. Music media and creative unions hand out their awards. And most often they are distributed to the creators of the works themselves - to authors, performers, clip makers. It is not customary for us to single out those who contributed to the movement of artists to success. In the list of nominations for any music award, you will not find a line assigned to producers or record companies. There is only the “For Contribution” prize. That is, you need to live your life to be appreciated. Boris Barabanov decided to fill this gap and compile a list of the most influential players in the music business and the most important platforms, which are essential on the road to success.

Awards are loved in Russia, their number is growing from year to year. In St. Petersburg, the awards ceremony of the concert company NCA was held, and in Moscow, the Jager Music Awards (JMA) were handed out, formally - for achievements in "independent" music, in fact, for the artists most in demand among young people. The "Major League" was held in Crocus City Hall, the next "Song of the Year" was filmed in the "Olympic". Finally, the Russian national music award "Victoria" has just died down. They announced Denis Klyaver's "When you become big" hit of the year, a song that you won't find in the final tops of Apple Music and Yandex. A common yardstick for measuring the entire array of Russian popular music has not yet been invented.

In 2018, revolutionary changes continued related to the migration of all music content to the Internet and the emergence of new delivery channels.

In fact, the number, code, algorithm rules the ball. A producer is a person who makes sure that the computer works properly. It seems so on the surface. Yet people play an important role in the music industry. Those who are at the helm today, on whose authoritative opinion the fate of the artists depends, were included in our list "Who decides in show business - 2018".

But for a start, a digression into history will not be superfluous.

1990s-2000s

The first music award in the new Russia was "Ovation". The mechanisms of its receipt are still legendary, market players even name specific amounts that should have been paid by the organizers to become one of the winners, but this did not prevent the laureates from keeping their “palms” in a visible place. Some still do it. Industry figures who openly clashed with the founder of Ovation, a young Donetsk entrepreneur Grigory Kuznetsov, in opposition to him established the Kvinta corporation and their own prize - Zvezda. At some point, under the auspices of Kvinta, whales gathered, capable of crushing the entire market. In general, passions were in full swing.

To make it clearer for the public who is fighting with whom, in the summer of 1996, the popular glossy magazine Om published the first list of the most influential people in Russian show business.

Here's who entered it:

    • Yuri Aizenshpis, producer of "Kino", "Technologies" and Dima Bilan. He passed away in 2005.

    • Yuri Aksyuta, General Producer of the Europe Plus radio station. Now he is the director of the First Channel music broadcasting.
    • Bari Alibasov, producer of the group "Na-Na".

    • Alexander Gorozhankin, director of the TV company "ViD". Now he lives in Spain, according to friends, "has earned enough to no longer engage in show business."
    • Ivan Demidov, presenter of Muzoboz, director of TV6 TV company. Now director of the Foundation for the Development of Contemporary Art.
    • Boris Zosimov, 1990-2000 director of Biz Enterprises, Polygram Russia, MTV Russia. Nowadays he is far from the music industry, occasionally gives nostalgic interviews.
    • Vladimir Kozlov and Kirill Zelenov, executives of ZeKo Records. Kirill Zelenov was the victim of a contract murder; Kozlov was arrested on charges of organizing it.
    • Joseph Kobzon. Joseph Kobzon. in 2018.
    • Igor Krutoy, composer, permanent owner of the ARS company, founder of the radio holding Krutoy Media, producer international competition "New wave".

    • Sergey Lisovsky, the owner of the LIS'S holding, the advertising director of the ORT TV channel. Now the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management.
    • Vladimir Meskhi, Leonid Landa, leaders of the Rice Music company, organizers of the Maksidrom festival. Today Vladimir Meskhi organizes Midsummer Night’s Dream parties. Leonid Landa is engaged in business in various fields.
    • Alexander Morozov, founder of the Moroz Records recording company. The company's catalog contains records of the Kino group, Alla Pugacheva and Vladimir Vysotsky, as well as a series of Legends of Russian Rock. Today the owner of the Moroz Records brand is the Musical Law Company. Her name most often pops up in the press in the context of legal proceedings around the legacy of Viktor Tsoi.
    • Stas Namin, head of the Tsvety ensemble, head of SNC Records and editor of Stas magazine. Nowadays he runs the Stas Namin Center and his own theater, writes pictures and symphonies.
    • Yuri Nikolaev, TV presenter, director of the Yunis TV company. He continues to work on television.
    • Alla Pugacheva. Alla Pugacheva.

Bright, daring, adventurous people did the same in show business as their peers did in other spheres of Russian life - earning their first capital and dividing the market.

Then, in the second half of the 1990s, an image was formed, recorded in the anecdote: "Are you a real producer?"

Over the past decades, people from this list have managed to make careers not only in show business and mass media, but some also in politics. Most of them had faded into the shadows by 2018, and some out of life. Three real large-scale players, each in their own field, remain - Yuri Aksyuta, Igor Krutoy and Igor Tonkikh.

So, in the coordinates of the late 1990s and early 2000s, an influential character decides the fate of an artist. He is somewhere, that one, with a wolfish instinct, disarming charisma and boundless connections. You just need to find him, show your music, stun him with talent, if necessary - seduce. Right now he is sitting in his office and just waiting for you to knock on the door. In the 2000s, people were added to the list of influential producers primarily with good connections on television - Maxim Fadeev, Konstantin Meladze, Igor Matvienko, Iosif Prigozhin, Victor Drobysh. Their production centers were the main providers of content for TV and radio. The only alternative to them was Nashe Radio.

As of 2018, there seems to be no such person, just as there is no super-influential musical television guaranteeing tour engagements. The place of the producer of flesh and blood was taken by the platform, the algorithm, the code. And the code was invented by people far from music. They had deuces in singing at school, but everything was good with mathematics.

For example, there is no doubt that today a star is impossible without correct positioning on the VKontakte network. However, the hypothetical head of the VKontakte network is not the person who opens the coveted door behind a canvas with a painted fireplace.

Likewise, if there is an imaginary "YouTube boss", then he makes the decision to cooperate with the artist based on considerations of benefits for the video hosting. It doesn't sell the artist to the public, it sells advertising opportunities to advertisers.

From music experts you can often hear: "The place that in the coordinates of the 2000s was occupied by the program director of the radio station, who made the decision to rotate the song, is now occupied by the compiler of a playlist for streaming in Apple Music or Yandex.Music." This is actually the case. The most important playlists, like Best of the Week or Russian Pop Music, are made up of people whose names are kept secret by digital platforms to prevent corruption.

So, probably, today's show business can do without a producer at all, and everything is decided by the tastes of the public and the settings of the social network feed?

If we are compiling a list of conditional "bosses" that influence the fate of an artist in 2018, then part of such a list should definitely not be the names of specific people, but the names of platforms or structures that provide an artist with opportunities for promotion or influence his career.

Personality in the management of musical affairs is still of great importance, but often acts not so much as the arbiter of destinies, as as the supervisor of the platform.

And yet, the “success architect” figure is still important.

On the twenty lines of our list are the names of those with whom it is worth maintaining good relations, and the brands that you cannot do without in 2018 if you are seriously involved in music as a business.

    • Sergei Shnurov, leader of the "Leningrad" group. The most popular showman in the country, a man who turns everything he touches into gold. He judges the Voice show on Channel One, makes mini-films instead of clips, makes friends with rapper Pharaoh and Alexander Nevzorov, and publishes poetic feuilletons on his Instagram, which he immediately cites news agencies... His name appeared in the context of a number of high-profile scandals, from the first Russian tour of Madonna in 2006 to a concert in support of the Federation charitable foundation in 2010. In 2014-2015, he participated in the high-profile sale of shares of CJSC "Russian Media Group" to FSUE "Gosconcert" - it caused a loud one. Now on the air of Russian Radio and Ru.TV, which are part of the RMG, you can often find songs performed by the sons and wife of Kiselev - VladiMir, YurKiss and Elena Sever. However, none of them became hits on a national scale.

    • Stepan Kazaryan. Producer of the Bol festival - the most authoritative annual show of Russian independent music, which has become an important milestone in the career of such musicians as Grechka, Monetochka, Vast Molly, Buerak, Pasosh, Lucidvox, Shortparis, etc. The main propagandist of the new national music.

However, the phenomenon of "Gasgolder", under whose wing Scryptonite, Matrang, T-Fest and others work, is based not only on the charisma of the label's frontman, but also on modern management and his competent work on the Internet.

    • Black Star. The brand has long been associated, first of all, with the name of Timati (Timur Yunusov), but now Black Star's clients include such lucrative artists as L'One, Yegor Creed, Mot and others. After Alla Pugacheva appeared at the premiere of Acid at the Gogol Center, there were suggestions that Krapivina would be involved in celebrations in honor of the singer's anniversary in 2019. However, Krapivina herself denies this.

    • Yuri Dud. Deputy General Director of Sports.ru. Interview host and author of documentaries on the vDud channel on YouTube. The channel has more than 4.2 million subscribers. VK has 97 million registered users, VK users visit the network more than 80 million times a day. Since 2015, VK has been holding its own music festival in St. Petersburg.
    • Igor Krutoy. The only one of the "dinosaurs" of the 1990s who accepted all the challenges of the time, and even having lost a number of media assets that he managed in the 2000s, remains an influential figure - he manages the ARS holding, the Song of the Year festival, the New Wave competition, which moved from Jurmala to Sochi, and also a number of festival projects, and also runs his own Academy of Popular Music. And he continues to compose songs. In November 2018, Igor Krutoy joined the Council for Culture under the President of the Russian Federation.
    • Rhymes and punchy. A public on the VKontakte network with an unimaginable number of subscribers - 2 989 078. "Rhymes and Punchy" largely determine the agenda in domestic hip-hop, that is, as of 2018, in the musical mainstream. Since 2017, the public has been hosting its own Rhymes Show festival. In 2018, it was held in Moscow and St. Petersburg with the participation of LSP, ATL, Pooshloy Molly, Friendzones, GONE.Fludd and other popular artists.
    • Grigory Leps. In the 2000s and early 2010s - the main artist of the "Russian chanson". • Maxim Dmitriev. In the 2000s and the first half of the 2010s, he was the general director of the First Musical Publishing House. In 2016, after scandals in the Russian Authors' Society, he was elected CEO of RAO, and in 2018 he became the chairman of its board. RAO is the largest Russian non-profit organization for collective management of copyright.
  • Parents' Committees. At the end of 2018, it suddenly became clear that organizations calling themselves "parental committees" can disrupt concerts and entire tours of artists, not paying attention to any expert examination and legal procedures, simply by sending angry letters to the prosecutor's office and other authorities. Husky, IC3PEAK, Eljey, Yegor Creed, Monetochka, and others fell under the roller of an unexpectedly boiling indignant mind. Judging by the fact that soon after the wave of indignation caused, the authorities in Moscow immediately began to flirt with the musicians, to cooperate and promise good, the campaign was initiated exactly what is from below.

"People are drowning in information and need those who help them find music"

Kommersant asked the singer, radio manager, head of a record company, a specialist in show business about the figure of a real or virtual "boss" in today's show business. social networks and the head of the Internet music platform.

Elena Temnikova, singer: As an artist, I experienced the "oxygen cutoff", terminated the contract with producer Maxim Fadeev and found a new form of existence in the market, so I can speak on these topics responsibly. If you have a great track, you are halfway to victory. But the remaining half-way is incredibly difficult. Now you have to surprise the listener: make interesting advertising campaigns, build a dialogue with the audience, talk to digital platforms (directly or through aggregators). Use all the mechanisms of modern sales channels in social media. The Internet is a free environment where everything depends on your efforts and creativity. But let's be frank: radio now still has incredible power to penetrate the masses. All station editors perfectly monitor the digital environment, and if the music is good, it will certainly be noticed and taken even without meeting you. You can live fine without a radio. But radio is now your partner, not a censor - that's the fundamental difference between the 1990s and 2010s.

When it comes to music platforms, there are people behind them too. Whether you are featured or the right playlist is not about the algorithm or the code. This is decided by the platform editions.

Any music platform is not soulless. There are automatic hit parades, but the traffic does not come only from there.

The listener decides for himself what is good. The younger generation of so-called influencers can deliver your product to their audience, but they never determine success. Their prices are up to several hundred thousand rubles per post. But I have never paid Instagram bloggers a dime in my life. For me, it's money thrown away.

Denis Serikov, general producer of Like.FM and NRJ: When the streaming service Pandora appeared, there was a feeling that the algorithm could do everything for a person. But, despite the fact that the system processes big data quite seriously, it cannot cope without a person. Pandora has a minimum number of criteria for selecting tracks for a playlist equal to 150, and a maximum of 300. Imagine, here is a track: some husky African playing a saxophone, and the system constantly matches and isolates mismatches, the robot filters out songs that do not match the track and suggests new to the playlist. Everything seems to be cool, but still far from perfect. So Spotify and Apple Music came to the point that they began to outbid people from the radio. There was a man the program director of radio, and now he sits on these streaming services. And there are many of them. One makes great relaxation compilations, the other is cool about 1970s rock and makes playlists on this topic, the third does super-urban rap. These are curators, these are people, not robots. And now the artist and record label are looking to connect with people from Spotify and Apple Music to get into those playlists. If your song ends up in a playlist with 5 million subscribers, that's direct monetization.

Artists want to get into this playlist the way they wanted to get on the radio before. Moreover, bribes do not work there.

However, this topic is also gone on the radio.

It is very interesting for me to observe how the category of musicians behaves, who create content themselves and make money on it themselves. They behave phenomenally. The production of this content has raised the bar for production, I have a huge archive of new music of excellent quality, and everything is brought up and brought to me. I don’t have time to stage a new one, I don’t know what to remove from the air. I am very impressed with Jah Khalib. He is so creative - he earned money and sits, makes his music. A lot, a little - it is enough for him, he does not depend on anyone. He doesn't even need a radio station anymore. It seems that only the first singles from the album appeared, and he already has half of the next one recorded. And he will release it when he wants, when he himself feels that it is time.

Dmitry Konnov, general director Universal Music Group: I do not believe in the "boss", I know that any successful musician of the current decade has someone who believed in him from the very beginning, who supported and directed, solved problems with money and life difficulties, who created conditions for creativity and work on stage and , who, in the end, brought a simple guy or an ugly woman to investors in creativity. Let's call this person "manager". The Internet has changed the way we approach the contact between artist and audience. At the start of your career, you, as an artist, should always be active on the network, you should share your emotions not only at a concert, you should have your own opinion about virtually everything in the world. The images invented by the producers of the 1990s do not withstand such pressure.

Therefore, the 10s of the XXI century are a time of success for those who sincerely believe in what they say and what they sing about. And yes, sometimes it is stunningly stupid or primitive in terms of life experience, but old folks, this music is not for you.

Stay with Sting and Lagutenko.

People are now drowning in information and need those who help them find new emotions, that is, music. Therefore, opinion makers are very important. The main thing is that the person you are contacting really likes what he or she is promoting - then this collaboration makes sense. A classic example is Yuri Dud, who made a super promotion for Russian rap in general, because he loves and listens to him.

Photo: Roman Bogautov / Personal page vk.com

Roman Bogautov, head of the VK Music service promotion: Now the influence of producers has changed a lot, because the consumption pattern has also changed. Earlier, the serious promotion of the artist was impossible without agreements with radio stations and television broadcasts, these were the first steps of a career. Now the appearance of the musician on the evening TV show confirms that the whole country is already listening to his songs. Among such stories only recently are Monetochka and Buckwheat, Luna and "Naughty Molly". But there are thousands of artists out there who develop beautifully and gather fan stadiums, deliberately ignoring traditional media.

Of course, the role of the producer is still very important to professional development, but aspiring musicians at first are often self-hosted on digital platforms. Recommendations from music and video platforms help them find an audience. For example, on VKontakte there is the Prometheus algorithm, which marks young talented authors and automatically promotes their work to a relevant audience. This is a good development opportunity for young authors, from the brightest examples of this year's musicians who received promotion from Prometheus - Grechka and Monetochka.

In our practice, we see that the place of TV channels and critics in the life of young listeners has been taken by publics.

Therefore, now a review from the administrators of an influential public can have a much stronger effect on the fate of a track, an album, and even an artist and spread throughout the network than the words of one critic or producer.

Igor Kraev, founder of the platform for the distribution of audio and video content site:Most artists cannot and do not want to manage and promote themselves. Yes, today, artists have access to a lot of what producers and promoters used to exclusively do: you can record a song at home using a laptop, place it in digital stores and on streaming sites through content aggregators, TopHit will help with radio stations, organize your channel on YouTube is a matter of minutes. The problem is that all these opportunities are available to absolutely everyone today. As a result, up to 300 thousand new tracks and albums appear in iTunes every week! That is, a new release is published every two seconds! And in total, as of the end of August 2018, there were 65 million tracks stored in iTunes!

You can stand out from this huge mass of colleagues and competitors only by attracting additional resources - money, opportunities for professional producers, promoters, marketers, media managers.

Thus, the artist's close work with the "bosses" - producers, labels, publishers, top media managers continues to be an important factor in the success of the artist and the song among the mass audience. The "signing" of independent artists by the largest streaming platforms is also becoming a relatively new trend. The role of technology platforms and Internet services in promoting artists and tracks has grown exponentially in recent years. Along with FM radio stations, which everywhere remain the main promotional channel for the pop mainstream, YouTube and other streaming platforms, social media, as well as a number of more specialized resources - aggregators and sellers of digital content, publishers of music statistics, crowdfunding platforms of the next generation, and etc. And I would nevertheless clearly divide the role of technology platforms as such and of individual process leaders that personally and significantly influence the creative destiny of artists. Such people in Russia today include Alena Mikhailova, Konstantin Meladze, Max Fadeev, Igor Matvienko, Timur Yunusov, Basta, Roman Emelyanov and Mikhail Kozyrev.

The numerous awards in the field of show business, which are handed out annually by our media and various musical communities, have recently experienced a clear shortage of award-winning artists. Increasingly, they become laureates not for new hits that blew up the whole country, but for past merits.
Or even for the contents of the wallets of wealthy relatives or sponsors.

Only worthy applicants for the "FILIMONKA" award of the music columnist "Express Gazette" Mikhail FILIMONOV are not transferred. According to his plan, it is awarded for various ugly acts and scandals - just because our artists succeed much better than creating and performing good songs.

" In fact, in a number of cities, Rotaru's performances were canceled due to lack of box office receipts. At the New Wave festival in Jurmala, he demonstratively indulged in love games with another bride, Sofia Kalcheva. Introduced her to everyone as a 28-year-old graduate of the production department. The only one of all gave "correct" testimony against the organizers of the concerts, who, overstating the artists' fees in their accounts, appropriated large sums from the state budget. Singer Igor Nadzhiev even expressed the opinion that the terrible car accident involving Shavrina, in which she died younger sister, could have been rigged as revenge by embezzlers of budget money.

Anastasia VOLOCHKOVA
In an interview with Ukrainian TV, she said that she considers Crimea a part of Ukraine, and called the singer Valeria (Alla Perfilova) and producer Iosif Prigogine, who supported the annexation of the peninsula to Russia, as "political prostitutes". In retaliation, their lawyer Sergei Zhorin handed over to the police a recording of the ballerina's negotiations with the prankster Vovan (Vladimir Krasnov) about a trip to the bathhouse with the mayor of one of the cities and initiated the initiation of an administrative case against her about engaging in prostitution - not political, but the most common one.

True, the police could not establish the fact of providing Volochkova with sex services for money.

But she herself fully demonstrated what she accused Valeria and Prigozhin of - after a while she made a statement that she had always considered Crimea to be Russian, and explained her attacks on her colleagues by the fact that she was allegedly misled by Ukrainian TV people.

In this letter, he reminded the writer of his "unparalleled experience of blowjob with black guys on the streets of New York" and offered to engage in oral sex with him: “I, of course, not black, but I must also try white. Or have you already? " Limonov called the musician's letter "baseness" and did not consider it necessary to answer it, referring to the classic - Alexander Pushkin: "They received praise and slander indifferently and do not dispute a fool."
