The assembly began as usual, with the cockpit stuffed with etching from Part and the manufacture of levers. The dashboard is optimized for the model from Smer, therefore it turned out to be too big and was cut into three segments, and the photographic plate of the instruments was generally from La-5 ... The armored cup of the seat was milled to an acceptable thickness.

On the upper surfaces of the wings there are extensive sinks, which are puttied with layers of cyacrine glue, and then tediously sanded. Then the niches for the flaps were milled out, the flaps themselves were made and all this was “ennobled” by etching.

Unpleasant gaps and weights were also revealed on the bottom of the wings and on the rudder, which were puttied with layers of cyacrine glue and sanded. I was careful to use nitro putty, which is easier to process, so as not to “eat through” very thin plastic.

After all these preparatory operations, the cab and chassis niches are painted. Paint AKAN 83040 strongly brightened.

The fuselage came together with a bang, but the fairings of the wing (the lines of joints with the wing unsuccessfully “lie” on them) had to be shed with cyacrine and once again tediously sanded ...
For the manufacture of an antenna loop, a hole with a diameter of 0.4 mm was drilled in the keel, a wire loop was twisted, glued and then puttied with cyacrine. The place is thin and uncomfortable, but nothing better came up…

Then it was colored with AKAN nitra 81009, 82038 and 83016. All paints without highlighting.

The chassis was assembled without problems, the double links and shields were etched, “hydraulic hoses” made of wire were added. Elf wheels.

The decal is given for two wonderful coloring options, but I got it with a white offset. The placement of elements according to the instructions is very conditional, it is better to focus on the photo, since they exist.

I chose Marcel Albert's board, but for him the "arrow" turned out to be greatly oversized (cut into several parts, then docked already on the model).
The drawings themselves are well welded with alcohol, but the varnish layer “bumped” and “refused” to stretch. I had to carefully cut with the blade of a model knife ...
The “arrow” on the right was too soft in alcohol and “curled up”, an unpleasant jamb ...

Noticeable shifts of the white elements of the decal were touched up with a brush with water-soluble white AKAN. The tricolor on the coque of the screw is AKAN water-soluble paints.

Machine gun barrels made of honey. needles, exhaust pipes are drilled out, "soldiers" of the chassis are made of wire.

In the final finishing with a “dry brush”, I did not zealous, slightly along the “riveting” and the edges of the “duralumin”. In the photo of the prototypes, signs of wear are almost invisible.
For "aging" and "complication" of color shades, directional skinning of the surfaces of the wings was applied along the finishing semi-matt nitro varnish. I'm still testing the technology.

In general, the model is very similar to the prototype, and if you don’t bother too much, it’s easy to assemble.
But there are annoying drawbacks.
If the wrong shape of the wingtips (which I did not immediately pay attention to, and later did not begin to redo) can be done without problems, then the wing profile is too thin and the sides of the rear fuselage are too flat (and it is clearly seen in archive photos that there is a noticeable radius ) is very problematic to fix ...

Well, let's remember the Zvezda catalog for this year. And let's see what they offer us in the new 2018.

Personally, in my very subjective opinion, the production plan of our leading domestic manufacturer of prefabricated scale models can be considered completed.

And this has a special meaning.

Reviewing the catalog last year, I designated it under the motto "We select tails - we debug production."

After all, for a long time, the Star was not so much making new models as “chasing its shadow”. Constantly doing in the new year what I did not have time in the past. And even much earlier.

It is not for nothing that the saying “they are waiting for the promised three years” fully applied to the Zvezda company.

But still, the gap was regularly reduced.

And this year it has reached its minimum.

At the moment, it has become clear that only one model will remain unfulfilled from the catalog for 2017. This is Ural 4320.

Although I expected. that it will be completed in December.

But as it is...

CONCLUSIONS:

Now the time has come for the Star to apply this quite successful marketing ploy.

But still, I was more pleased with the appearance in the catalog of the T-90MS and Treminator-2 models.

Now it makes no sense to buy models from Trumpiter and Tiger Model.

But the most chic will probably be the appearance of a completely new model of the T-34 tank. Still, those models that are in the arsenal of the Star have long been outdated. Although at the same time they did not sell less.

Also, in my opinion, it is very good that they began to develop a line of modifications of the IL-76. Especially nice to see the A-50.
