What does a buyer need to know about the timing of sending orders from Aliexpress?

Since people from all over the world buy on Aliexpress, you need to understand that if you ordered a product for a couple of bucks, the seller receives hundreds of such orders per day, and large stores receive thousands, so sellers are given some time to process the order. which averages 3-7 days and includes:
- collection of goods at the warehouse;
- package;
- going to the post office or calling a courier;
- sending and receiving track numbers;
- entering the tracking number in the order description;

In this case, the order will have the status "Order Processing".
Sometimes it happens that the Aliexpress seller may ask you to extend the processing time by writing a corresponding message: “Please extend the processing time so that I can send you the order,” here you act at your discretion. You can agree or refuse, but I advise you to agree and extend the time for order processing.
If the order processing time (timer) expires and the seller does not confirm shipment, the order will be automatically canceled and the money will be returned to the buyer in full.
At this time, you can also cancel your order and get your money back.

What may affect the delivery time of goods:
- the product is currently out of stock in the store;
- the order time fell on a major holiday or weekend;
- period of sales on the Aliexpress website.

What should a buyer do if the seller does not send the goods to Aliexpress?

If the seller does not send the parcel with the order for a long time, then you have the following options:
1. If the order processing time expires and the seller does not confirm the shipment of the goods, the order will be automatically canceled and the money will be returned in full.
2. During order processing, you can cancel the order and get your money back within 3-14 days and order a similar product from another seller using cashback.
3. Wait for the goods to be shipped (the order status on the Aliexpress website should change from “order processing” to “shipped”).

If you wait until the time limit expires, your order will be automatically closed and the money will be returned without a dispute. But often, even after a week, the prices for the purchased goods have already creeped up and it is now more expensive to buy them. That is why I advise you not to wait until the order is closed, but to extend the processing time yourself for the first time.

Usually I also write a letter to the seller, he answers me: “yes, we will ship tomorrow.” Send it - good. What if there is silence again?

There are Chinese sellers who, by sending an order at the last moment, thereby insure their parcel for a week, i.e. actually sent on the first day, the tracking number was written to the buyer a week later and now seven days are added to the delivery time.

And there are sellers who will not send the goods, the order will be closed or you will cancel it yourself. And nothing will happen to them for this. If there is no product in stock, let them write, but ignoring you like this and feeding you breakfast is not professional.

Therefore, in this case, I close the order with the wording “Item is out of stock.” What should I actually think? A completely justified reason - it doesn’t send, which means there’s nothing. The main essence of this wording is that the seller will be subject to sanctions from the trading platform for it. And if the order is closed for this reason, he will not be happy.

Don’t worry, as soon as the seller sees your closing manipulations, he will immediately restore the order and write a personal message. It will probably promise delivery or ask to close the order, but with a different wording. I needed to “close” the same order twice with exactly this wording in order to make it clear to the seller that it was better to send the goods at the price that was three weeks ago at the time of purchase.

Hi all! Recently, a not entirely pleasant story happened to me with the purchase of a gift for Aliexpress, which was the reason for writing a new article. The fact is that I very often order a variety of cosmetics or jewelry as gifts for friends for various holidays.

On the site you can easily find sellers with high-quality and healthy products in these categories, but at the same time much more affordable than on the shelves of domestic stores. I always approach orders responsibly and, knowing the peculiarities of Chinese mail, I select a gift several months before the significant date. I did the same this time. Unfortunately, I did not receive my gift on time, which was due to a delay in sending by the seller. How this situation was resolved and how it ended is below in this article. And today we will talk about what to do if the seller on Aliexpress does not send the goods.

Why shouldn't you be scared?

Firstly, it is worth noting that each seller on Ali has an individual deadline for sending the order. For some it does not exceed a couple of days, but for some slow-moving Chinese it lasts for several weeks.

If you paid for the order, the shipping deadline has passed, and your order has not been sent, you should first write to the seller and find out the reason. Most of them respond promptly and resolve the problem quickly. Seller not responding? Don't despair! After all, your money is still in Ali’s “buffer zone” and will not be transferred to the seller until you receive and confirm your order.

If your order is under protection (its expiration date can be seen right below the status, and you still haven’t received a response from the supplier, it makes sense to open a dispute and demand either send the paid purchase as soon as possible or return the money. Here are possible scenarios:

  • You expect delivery before the end date of the product protection and sooner or later it will still reach its owner
  • You open a dispute and seek sending/refund/compensation
  • You don’t do anything, and if the person is unscrupulous and doesn’t send anything, the money will go to him automatically after the protection period expires.

It’s possible to get your money back!

I’ll say right away that fulfilling the second requirement is more difficult to achieve. In my case, it looked like this: I opened a dispute, the seller (apparently frightened) immediately sent the goods, but due to problems at the post office and with delivery, my parcel began a long journey throughout Russia, after which it was delivered to my post office late at 2 weeks. As you understand, the gift was not a success and I had to come up with a new one in a short time.

It is worth noting that if the supplier had nevertheless sent the item I wanted within the specified period, such problems would not have arisen. I wrote about this in an open dispute. The supplier did not say why the orders were not sent on time, but began to tearfully ask not to return the order and even promised a discount on future orders. But for me the product was no longer relevant! I managed to get some of my money back and plus I received my parcel! It turns out that the wolves are fed and the sheep are safe)) That’s the story.

How to avoid such a situation?

Unfortunately, there is no universal recipe; you cannot protect yourself from late orders. But there are certain rules that I have noticed from experience. It is usually not the seller with a high rating and a large number of orders and reviews that takes a long time to ship the goods, but, on the contrary, the one who has few of them. A strange pattern, but nevertheless, advice stems from it: order products only from trusted sellers and carefully filter them based on their profile information. A product sent several weeks, or even a month later, will certainly not arrive on time, so you can safely open a dispute.

What happens to the money if the goods are not sent to Aliexpress?

Nothing will happen to them - they will be returned to you as soon as the period allotted to the seller to send the goods expires. This is another aspect of the order protection program for Aliexpress. The full amount will be returned to the card, account or virtual wallet from which you paid for the goods.

Therefore, you don’t have to worry about how to return the money yourself - the system will take care of everything itself. In addition, no seller in his right mind would refuse money, so sooner or later they all send goods (except for scammers, of course, but that's a completely different story :-)). You just need to be patient or choose a product with a shorter shipping time in the future.

What to do when goods are not sent to Aliexpress for a very long time?

In this situation, you have only 2 options: wait until the goods are sent to you, or ask the seller to cancel the order.

Politeness and patience

The “wait patiently for shipment” option is preferable, because when you bought something from this seller, you saw the order processing time. And the fact that you might not have paid attention to it is your problem :-)

However, you can (necessarily in English) politely ask when your purchase will be shipped.

This may be a coincidence, but after such a question, in about 3 out of 5 cases the seller changes the order status to “Sent” and sends the track code within a couple of days. That is, a stated interest on your part in specific shipping times could theoretically speed up the processing of your order. But this is, so to speak, a human factor, and you should not completely rely on it.

A little about order cancellation

I will provide you with detailed instructions on how to cancel an order on Aliexpress a little later. For now, let's talk about whether this can be done in a situation where goods are not sent to Aliexpress.

In principle, you can cancel an order in this situation by specifying as the reason “The order processing took too long.”

True, there is one important BUT: with 100% probability you can cancel the order for this reason only when the seller has increased the processing time AFTER you ordered the product.

What does it look like? For example, you made an order, on the page of which a 7-day processing period is indicated. You wait, a week passes, and the product still has not been shipped. And then you are surprised to discover that the order was not canceled automatically, because the processing time suddenly “increased” by 10-20-30 days.

The seller simply extended it (you should have received a notification by e-mail, but there will be no “marks” about this on the order page itself). In this case, you have every right to request the seller to cancel the order.

This happened to me when ordering - at first there were 5 days to process the order, and then pop - and 30 days. However, the seller canceled the order without any problems and, as it turned out, he did send the goods >_<

If there is no such compelling reason to cancel the order, then the probability is 50/50.

Again, you can try to solve the problem humanly - write to the seller, saying you made a mistake with the purchase, changed your mind, 1000 apologies, and so on. And request cancellation of the order due to “wrong choice” (something like that, I think the meaning is clear). Not all sellers, of course, agree, but there is still a chance of a quick refund.

In any case, do not worry and communicate with the seller. In most cases, Aliexpress rules are on your side, the main thing is don’t do anything rash :-)
